GM employees are now authorized to give four people per year their employee discount price. Now's the time to get to know an employee.

I don't see why that's news. They've had similar programs for years, and most dealerships will beat employee pricing anyways.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

If my second favorite company were still 20% owned by GM instead of 9% owned by Toyota, would this have applied?

Also, what's so bad about modern GM cars?

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

I doubt it.

Hmmm... I met 2 guys at my uncle's Xmas party who are on the Camaro assy line.

... assuming the Camaro actually gets built. Maybe I could offer one of them a case of 12 yr Scotch to save a few grand off a Black SS.  :ohyeah:

I too always have to double check when some camaro owner refers to his car as a Z

Z28 was a trim level on a CAMARO, you own a CAMARO.

Do you hear people saying they own a LTZ? or a SEL?

Hey what do you drive?

I've got an SE........

Well the Z28 was around before the Nissan (Datsun) Z.  ;)

But not the Fairlady Z (at least it was damned close)

I think it came out in late 1969, so the Camaro has it beat.

FlatBlackCaddy

I thought december of 67 was when the first Z28 was made, compared to october of 69 for the datsun.

Either way, the fact remains that one is a camaro the other is a Z car. Just deal with it.

FlatBlackCaddy

Also if you want to talk about the FAIRLADY Z then that would be the "winner". The first fairlady's date back to 1960 IIRC a full 7 years before the camaro.

Yes, and i was referencing that. Saying that the first was 1960 and a full 7 years ahead of the camaro. Given that you said it would be close i figured maybe you were only refering to the 240 series and above.

No, I just couldn't remember my dates too well.

I have nothing really positive to say about the majority of GM cars on the road.  True, we have some great new cars and trucks that have come out recently, but there are still a lot of disappointments.  Furthermore, even some of the newest machinery on the road seems to have a distressing amount of the same old quality issues, like dash rattles and panel fitment issues that have been historically a trait of GM products.  Just because they are using a better looking plastic doesn't mean they have figured out how to put it together the right way.  Also, I have little faith in the company as a whole, and I detest them for wanting to use tax dollars to bail themselves out of a ship they put holes in themselves.

Chevrolet uses the letter Z for so many trim packages that just about every Chevrolet could be called a Z.

What the hell...order a Silverado with the Z71 package and you've got a Z. :hammerhead:

The Fairlady roadster and Fairlady Z are different cars.

I think it was a torquesteer from C/D who referred to his Cavalier Z24 as a Z car.

I only call my car a Camaro when I'm talking to people who don't know cars. When I say Camaro to people who do know cars they automatically think I have a base V6 version. Also most of the guys I know that own Nissans say "Z car" when referring to their cars. So in the end I could care less about who had the letter Z first or thinks they own the better car. One Z is no better than the other!

Yes. There was a Fairlady model out before 1967, but the Fairlady Z didn't come out until 1969 I believe.
