Ok, any nominations for Super speed sedans? Any car, just has to have four doors an be a sedan or wagon. No 5-door hatches or 2-door hatches. (Sorry GTI) Preferably, cars from "everyday" brands. (Sorry AMG and M-series, and S-line cars)

Here are My two nominations: The Lotus Carlton and the Ford TS50 (even though Lotus isn't an "everyday" brand, the Carlton started out as a Vauxhall)

CALL_911

Uhhhh

Wrong class. It can't be from a "Luxury" brand.

I know, my bad.

S60R? Or does Volvo count as luxury?

Forester 2.5XT (the last gen), Altima V6, Mazda6?

Your inclusion of the Lotus makes no sense then.

Also, please explain what you mean by differentiating  wagons and 5-door hatches.

I don't see much of a difference if any.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

1975 Honda CB750, 1986 Rebel Rascal (sailing dinghy), 2015 Mini Cooper, 2020 Winnebago 31H (E450), 2021 Toyota 4Runner, 2022 Lincoln Aviator

the Teuton

Spec.B and/or Legacy GT-B (twin turbo wagon).
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

How is that different from exempting an AMG car then?

An AMG began as a Mercedes which is a luxury car.

A Vauxhall isn't a luxury car.

The Vauxhall Carlton was an everyday Midsizer that had been rodded up by Lotus.

Hatches have less cargospace compared to their wagon counterparts. Wagon rooflines don't descend as fast, and do have windows in the C-pillar, which is not always the case in hatchbacks.

Who cares? The Opel Omega/Vauxhall Carlton were not luxury cars. They were fullsize RWD sedans that competed with the Ford Scorpio and other Fullsizers.

The were officially known in their day as "entry executive sedans," whatever that means.

If the Car's origin is identified as being Luxury (Cadillac, Audi, BMW, Mercedes and others) then it's not allowed. It doesn't include tuning companies, even if the price is much higher when the end product is released.

Actually I understand exactly what he meant. Luxury marques, like BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Jaguar, don't count,  but factory modded versions of mainstream sedans, like the Falcons, Commodores, and Vauxhalls DO. Kind of like how the SVT Contour would be a contender, but the Jaguar 3.0 X type would not.

As for 5 door hatched vs wagons, you posted a sedan delivery, based on a custom chopped top body that was never made by the factory.

More to the point, here's a 5 door hatch vs a wagon:

Which of course, brings me to one of my favorite sleepers, the '88 Mazda 626 GT Turbo hatchback. Which also doesn't fit in this particular poll, but was fast, fun, and had lots of potential for even more speed...

Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

MrH

This poll is stupid.

You exempt common, great cars, but include the crazy weird shit you like that you isn't even available.

I'm with Soup.  This poll doesn't make any sense.
