First of all, this is not the first time I've heard of this happening, and yes her weight was the cause of the issue.

Are you positive? I don't doubt that it can happen, but I'm not so sure about this lady specifically. I don't think she's THAT fat. Any large male in a small car is going to produce the same effect, yet I don't hear about big people blowing out their alignments left and right. I think it must take a pretty extreme case for that to happen.

Sorry guys.  Anyone who says she is 200 lbs is full of shit.  She's at least 250 lbs.  Having said that, the car's alignment should, in no way, be thrown out of whack in 5 days because of that kind of weight.  I have weighed 270-280 lbs myself, and none of cars ever had alignment issues.  I currently weigh 250 lbs and my Focus has never had an alignment issue.

So there was seriously no better way in your mind to work around it without having to embarrass her?  Yes she's fat, yes its funny, but they as a business shouldn't put them selves in that position.

My solution; find another tech (not necessarily a huge one) and stick him in there with a bag of floor-dry on hit lap to simulate the weight as much as possible.

Like I said, LOL but bad move on the dealer's part.

My auto tech teacher said that if they had a heavy customer, they'd just make the customer sit in the car while the techs would align the car. Now I guess everyone is too PC to say stuff like that.

Why? It was probably their fault (in most cases) for being fat anyways, and they're the ones going around making people's lives harder anyways.

My wife says 300, give or take 20lbs.

(She's been up there, she recently got gastric bypass and has knocked off 30lbs. But she also lost a good 20lbs before Christmas dieting AND they found and removed an 8lb cyst in January..)

Our society is what it is.  I know what it's like to be grossly overweight. 

That being said, I still feel we're being taught to accept obesity too much rather than embrace healthy lifestyles.  It can be discouraging when you think everyone is making fun of you, but it can also be a real kick in the ass when you finally come to terms how overweight you really are.

She can either get stronger from this or blame society for her plight.  Either way, America's weight problem as a whole needs to start being talked about rather than just brushed under the rug.  This opened up a necessary conversation.

It's ideal, though not absolutely necessary for regular street driving.  Guys who do competitive racing (SCCA, NASA, etc.) are definitely going to do this, though.

No.  Fat is fat, but calling people "lard ass", "Fat ass", "Zeppelin", etc. does nothing but discredit any arguments you make.  If you can't do it in a tactful manner, then your argument must be an empty one.
