I think livery drivers like the FWD DTS vs. the RWD Town Car.

Don't know about the drivers, but livery companies seem to like the Town Car better.  The Town Car, with it's separate chassis, is easier to turn into a stretch limo than the monococque-bodied DTS.

Around here, "town car" is a proprietary eponym for a livery car.

It's different in different locales. The DTS is usually preferred because of the Size and space efficiency over the Town Car.

Please back up that statement with some supporting facts.

I've never heard the term "livery company" used as much as it has been in this thread in my entire life.  That's the last thing that comes to mind when I hear "livery".  First that comes to mind is the livery of a race car, then a livery stable (that comes first if I'm watching Bonanza).  Interesting that so many people use it.

A former friend of mine gave me a Funeral Director's Monthly magazine, aka Hearse & Driver.

Back in 2004ish, they did a comparo between the DTS and Town Car livery cars.  They found the Cadillac to be more comfortable and powerful, giving it the nod in the end.  I still have the magazine at home.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.

For starters, all the funeral director companies in my area use DTS's  and to a lesser extend LWB Town and Countries. The Limos for the Family usually are DTS's as well. (Or Devilles)

Teuton also has a magazine that preferred the DTS over the Town Car.

Go to New York, and you'll see everyone using the Town Cars, and almost no DTSs. It's not funeral cars that make up their high fleet volume, either.

There's a few Lincolns over here but no Cadillacs (limos at least)

Probably has something to do with interchangeable parts from Crown Vic taxis

Town Cars are everywhere.  I see Caddies occasionally being used as fleet/semi-limo cars, but it's rare.

I hope Cadillac succeeds no matter what happens to GM in its current form. The world needs an American interpretation of true luxury cars. It has an important place in the automotive pantheon.

I'm not sure how well the Zeta platform would work for a Caddy compared to making revisions to the current Sigma II platrform, but I like the idea of a DTS body grafted onto the chassis of a Commodore (or better yet, the Statesman) a LOT better than the same grafted onto the chassis of a Malibu.

are you really surprised? lincoln did the same thing with the mkz, mkx and mks, but at least awd/awd is an option. another issue with lincoln is the decsion to go with only 4 cylinder (soon to come) and six cylinder engines. it was a stroke of luck for fmc that the economy took a wrong turn. when things turn back around, they may be sorry.

back to cadillac... i cannot believe gm is actually planning on rebadging an equinox as a caddy luxury suv!

The SRX isn't a rebadge.

will the sts die? not long ago, cadillac was to merge the dts and sts into a bmw want-a-be. so much for that!
