It's a simple question, but to add another part to it: How fast have you gone in it?

dazzleman

I don't know the top speed.  I've broken 100 mph but no more than that.

In the day, it apparently topped out at 111 mph or so.  I've taken it to 90ish.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

According to the specs, it's governed at 112 mph.  I've only taken it to maybe 90 (overtaking a slower vehicle in a short passing zone).

I've had my Accord to 175kph/109mph. No clue what its max might be, but it has to be close to that.

Even where possible to go faster I have always limited myself to 200kph/125mph on public roads, so that's as fast as I've had the RSX going. Its drag limited to around 232kph/145mph according to reviews.

I've had the Z up to 120-130ish, I calculated the max speed in top gear to be 190-195 around 7000rpm. I'm sure it doesn't have enough power(with the current turbos) to hit that, but it will most likely be drag limited to the 170's.

I took my first Maxima to about 135
First Accord to 130
Second Accord to the JDM 180km/h limit (it banged on it. I think that was a 150MPH car)
Second Maxima... maybe 110. Brakes sucked
Third Accord... too many issues to go beyond 90 MPH. It has pep though. Maybe a 135MPH car

Speed_Racer

They (other owners) say that the Two can top out at a drag-limited 120mph. I've gotten it up to around 90mph.

165ish?

Apparently it only needs about a mile or so of road to get around 160mph from a standing start.

http://www.motortrend.com/womt/112_0306_spdtest/photo_06.html

It runs out of 5th gear at 170ish, and 6th is just an economy gear.

well according to that graph, the top speed of the z06 should be about 175...

I've gone 90 in my car before.  It was VERY stable.

Yeah it's a weird situation where 6th gear is almost enough to go forward a bit more, and some Z06's can climb just a little bit more in 6th in some tests.

So for this C&D test, the Z06 was redline limited to 168mph in 5th.

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_lists/high_performance/muscle_cars/chevrolet_corvette_z06_road_test__1+t-specs+page-3.html

For this test:

http://www.roadandtrack.com/reviews/roadtests/pdf/2003/2003_03_z_comparison_data.pdf

5th gear ran out at 170mph (I'm guessing small differences in testing equipment and possibly tire wear).  6th gear managed to get another 1 mph to 171mph , but you can see it's out of the powerband (4280rpms in 6th and power peak is 6000rpm, torque peak is 4800rpm).

For Motortrend to get 174mph, they probably shifted into 6th, got an extra 3 or so mph under favorable conditions.

GoCougs

'05 Accord V6.

I've gone a max of about 110 mph. Pretty amazing for a plebeian car i  how good it feels at that speed and how fast it got there.

Top speed is rumored to be in the 140s without the governor...

Rich

'98 Cavalier 2.2L pushrod 4A- about 95mph on the highway (I was really pissed off) no idea what the top speed was

'05 Cooper S 6MT - about 110 (maybe 114, but BMW speedos are inaccurate)  on the track, and about 110 on the highway, top speed is 135mph, IIRC

2002 Mercedes E320: I don't actually know the top speed on this one, but I did an indicated 132.

2004 Volkswagen Passat: Electronically limited to 130, I made and held an indicated 130.  It was easier to get there than it was in the 50hp more powerful E320.

2007 Porsche Boxster S:  Top speed 170, I only managed an indicated 120 before backing off.  Didn't have the car long enough to find the tarmac to truly exploit it.  Shame.

2008 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg: Electronically limited top speed of 130, so far I've only been to an indicated 105.

It probably couldn't top 140.  I was heading into some strong wind, but I still got the feeling that at 132, there wasn't much left.  The Passat was much strong at those speeds.  It felt like it could break 150 easy.
