$20?  Some wet-sanding paper for $4 probably would have done a comparable (or better) job.

Yeah, but I didn't have any wet-sanding paper.

So you...went and bought a headlight "restoration" kit but didn't see the sandpaper down the aisle? :(

Which one did you use?  Some work better than others.

I dunno... I think it was a real company, 3M or something. The reason I didn't just buy a bunch of sandpaper and polish is that the kit came with a polishing wheel that fits into a drill, which sucks a lot less than hand sanding or even random orbit sanding, which were my other options. It had a couple of grits of sandpaper, and a couple of polishing heads plus polish.

More effort. I think the one I got was less than $15, but it was a while ago, so I forgot.

This is the truth. They use this stuff called "electricity." Pretty weird.

So...I don't get it.  With one of those "kits" you get sandpaper and compound?  From the store, for less $, you can get sandpaper and compound.

So, I mean...damn, y'all are confusing me.  Buy your fancy kits. :mask:

From what I gather, the kits come with a disc you can put on your drill.

i wet sanded my headlights by hand. It's really not that bad.

Yeah, srsly.  It takes all of 5-10 minutes.  Y'all get hand cramps, or what?

The one I got came with the drill attachment and the sanding disks. The drill attachment is the important part. It's cheaper than buying a drill attachment that holds sand paper.

Bullshit. It took 15 minutes or more per headlight, and that's with a high-RPM drill. Additionally, you want to do more than just sand it. You also want to polish it, or there's no point.

5-10 minutes of sanding, yeah.  Buffing/polishing is extra, of course.

You speak to me as if I've never buffed out headlights/tail lights before.  I detail cars for a summer living, brah. :wtf:

Of sanding with a high-speed drill. Uh-huh.

Armrest fixed! Except it's kind of dumb. The main mount thing is fine, being metal. No more bendy armrest. But the actual hinge on the replacement part is made of a couple of bolts, as opposed to a solid axle-type thing, which, when you raise and lower the armrest, get loose. WTF, Ford? Way to fix one problem and cause another.

Also, the replacement part does away with the cup holders for the rear seat.
