It really does show how quickly the Chinese are progressing.

Who cares what the outside looks like?  AFAIK, their underpinnings are still shit.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.

Altima?  Insignia?

I see a little bit, but most cars today look similar.

I think Chang'An should be applauded for making a nice design. I really like this one:

The renderings are pretty, albeit derivative. The disconnect between these renderings and the dreck that Changan actually produces is enormous.  They don't have the manufacturing capability or the market for any of these cars.

They won't stand still. Hyundai used to produce laughable shitty cars, now they are world class. As the United States continues to drive corporations out, China will learn, tool up & get its engineering right. My guess is it will take five years before their car makers hit their stride.

Says who? Every Chinese automaker HAS to partner with another automaker, sort of like a mentor. The Foreign automaker gets cheap(er) labor and entry into a huge market, and the Chinese automaker learns the know-how and other methods to make a decent product.

BTW, ChangAn is one of china's "Big Five" and has partnerships with Suzuki and Ford.

Now you're being stupid.

I am?  Really?  How so?  Just because I see a resemblance between two cars?

Take a look at these two pictures and tell me you don't see a lot of similarities.

.

Sure, some of the details are different.  There's some Opel/Vauxhall Insignia and a bit of BMW mixed in.  But the overall shape reminds me of the CLS.  How does making a casual observation make me stupid?

You know a car sucks when it looks bad in a concept sketch

Fuck the designs... when the Chinese are able to wow me with their engineering they will be considered a threat to the car industry. Their engines & crash ratings are still in the early 1990s.
