Extended Warranty Options

I was wondering about the experiences or insight that board members have/had with the different types of extended warranties available.

There appear to be many that are not associated with the manufacturers. In my case the manufacturer might not be around to honor an extended warranty (Chrysler/Jeep).

While I generally used to do all the work myself on cars, the Commander is so complex (especially electrical/electronics) and has so many expensive parts, I would have to consider a warranty might be cost effective.
