Yes, I'll have one of those.

sportyaccordy

Very nice, but you can't beat that VR6 growl.

cawimmer430

Totally awesome design.  :mrcool:

They should also make a powerful TDI racing version a la GTI / GTD.  :praise:

There is also a manual version. 0.2s slower to 62 and a reduction in fuel economy.

Awesome! One of my soon to be affordable dream cars. I must say a used Mark 5 R32 would turn me on even more though...

I rather like that. I was impressed by the couple of mark V Golf GTis that I drove, and they were actually reasonably priced. I always liked the idea of the R32, but the market clearly was less impressed and I don't believe that many were sold. This one carries on the tradition of spending the money on engineering rather than over-adorning the bodywork with too many brash spoilers, vents etc..... subtle is always a good look.

Whilst I'm sure it will perform very well, I find it hard to believe that it is actually faster 0 - 100km/h than my Audi S6. I know the Audi is a fair bit heavier, but it has 435bhp at its disposal.

Man, I hate to break the bad news to you but a V6 Camry is quicker than your Audi S6. Why do you think it sells so well in the US?   :hammerhead:  :wtf:

Raza

After being underwhelmed by the looks and tweaks of the now too-refined MkVI, I must say I quite like this.  Unfortunately, when we finally do get it, I imagine that it'll be DSG only for the US, just like the last one.  Unless they listened to feedback from dealers who told them how many sales they lost because people wanted manuals.

i read some rumour boards and all indication says its coming to the US with DSG and a 6-speed manual option... woot

... too bad it will probably be too expensive like the R32 was for its core audience

VW finally built a real EVO competitor.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

They should throw that motor in a Lupo

That powertrain in a Scirocco wrapper would be the win.

Lupo's too big.  They should put it in a motorcycle and give you a free umbrella.
