My sister has a Saturn Ion, and for whatever reason it is a huge PITA to get in and out of the back seat. They also seem to swing out farther.

It's just like the extended cabs on trucks. No one likes the doors or the backseat but in a pinch it'll barely suffice.

The Ion Quad Coupe, or whatever it's called, right?  So, it's supposed to be an access to the rear seat that beats getting out of the driver or passenger front door. 

Designed from the ground up as a four door, five seater, I see no reason why suicide doors would be any better or worse.  Do you think anyone has trouble getting out of the back of a Phantom?

Yeah, because it's a fucking COUPE, not because it has suicide doors...

They also seem to swing out farther.

Probably do, there's less stuff in the way stopping it. No considerations have to be made at the hinge to avoid the range of motion of the door in front of it.
