Very nice. It retained it's suicide doors from the concept.

Pommes-T

Looks good. Like all new Opels. I just hope this won`t gain 20 cm lenth and offering less interior space than its predecessor like Insignia and Astra did.

Wait. I don't wanna know...

I think suicide doors are a horrible idea on a mainstream passenger vehicle.

I think it looks fine, since it was designed that way from the start. The Fit's wasn't.

Could make an interesting Buick.

That's really not bad, actually. Opel's design is getting better and better.

I wonder if they could've eliminated the B-pillar altogether like they did with the RX-8.

There is not a single attractive vehicle in this thread. What a mess.

Hachee

^ Thank you, Omi, "mess" is the perfect word.

I'm quite sure this is how this was designed:  Just take a piece of paper, scribble all over it, and slap some wheels on it.

Many, many people wouldn't have any children if this was different.  ;)

I can't see suicide doors being practical to the average consumer.

Why?

My sister has a Saturn Ion, and for whatever reason it is a huge PITA to get in and out of the back seat. They also seem to swing out farther.

It's just like the extended cabs on trucks. No one likes the doors or the backseat but in a pinch it'll barely suffice.

The Ion Quad Coupe, or whatever it's called, right?  So, it's supposed to be an access to the rear seat that beats getting out of the driver or passenger front door.

Designed from the ground up as a four door, five seater, I see no reason why suicide doors would be any better or worse.  Do you think anyone has trouble getting out of the back of a Phantom?

Yeah, because it's a fucking COUPE, not because it has suicide doors... :nutty:

QuoteThey also seem to swing out farther.

Probably do, there's less stuff in the way stopping it. No considerations have to be made at the hinge to avoid the range of motion of the door in front of it.
