The hood is too low for that guy to lean on it without looking awkward. BMW needs to raise it up and make it more SUV-ish.

I cannot wait for this to come out. The next mid-lux sedan battle is going to be really good.

Pommes-T

Yeah. This looks exactly like an Autobild rendering they did a while ago. Looks fantastic. So much better than the E-class. I think I'll testdrive this one together with my dad.

BMW is bringing back understated elegance. I can dig it.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

Looks good, but looks big. ///M version should be interesting. Hell, the V8 version should be interesting. Are they even gonna keep the NA 3.0L in the lineup?

I am looking forward to the unveiling... it's supposed to be today right?

Colin

Official unveiling due at 7pm GMT today.

It might just be a trick of the teaser, but that thing looks massive.

It's not going to be 3,700-4100 lbs. like the outgoing model. I wouldn't be surprised if it started at close to two tons.

I've come up with a new nickname for you. It is, admittedly, somewhat unwieldy, but apt nonetheless.

Given what they did with the new 7, I have high hopes in that regard.

535xi for dad. I should order it for him. It looks great.

Hachee

Looks very good, pretty much what we expected, and what so many wanted after the "Bangle" cars.  But I can't help but think, as with the new 7, it's a slight let down, in that there's nothing really new, at least in terms of looks.  It looks like we're back in the 3 sizes, one design mode for the 3, 5 and 7 - which is not necessarily a bad thing for many.

Now if they can only somehow bring back the "feel" of the old cars!  Hopefully, the new base (non sport package) cars, like the 528i, it won't be as soft as the current 5's are, for people who don't need every last bit of power and equipment, but want that driving experience that made a BMW a BMW.

Doesn't work for me.  It looks massive and soft.  The details don't come off either.  It's way too fussy - so many creases I lost count.  The nose has an element of awkwardness to it.  Somehow it just doesn't work - the one model divided opinion but at least it was purposeful, distinctive and clean in its design.

2o6

I like it. It kept everything I did like about the previous gen, and got rid of all the nasty bits.

I think it would look better without the two creases in the center of the hood.
