You see, the funny thing about trolling is that people just can't help but to argue with one, even though that's exactly the point; say outrageous things to get a rise out of people.

Yeah, I did try too hard too by throwing "RUPERT" there under the bus. He's so nice to me and is otherwise respectful to those he disagrees with that that was simply uncalled for in my little exchange. I apologize.

I will be the first to admit that I dont focus on spelling. I do however find it ironic that the " holier than thou" types go after after spelling rather than the intent of the post. I know that the idiots that go after spelling know excactly what my point is but know better than take it head on.
Your spelling was better than the "point" you were trying to make..

I should have sheaded some light on my background before jumping into this porta potty of public opinion. I am 40 years old and am a General Foreman for a large Union commercial construction company.
So you think Unions are the best thing since potato chips. Unfortunately most intelligent people think they are what have RUINED American Car Companies. (Disclaimer: I have never belonged to a union but my father has, and I have worked with many.)

QuoteI am a hands on type. I actually build things for a living. I know I am a minority on sites like this, but people that have soft hands and NO experience with the things they make a living discrediting piss me off.
The people on this site enjoy driving cars. They enjoy talking and reading about cars. Many have more experience with cars than you do. There is a reason that people with "soft hands" make more money than construction workers.

I will say this, if you are a die hard Toyota fan, you will be raked over the coals in the next year. Honda  chearledres will be close behind........

True. The American public will eat Toyota (and by association, anything Japanese) alive the next year or so.

-----I'm NOT attacking your choice of profession or self. But by throwing yourself out there like that, as a means of SUPPORTING your opinion, leaves an invitation to point out why it doesn't matter that you're a construction worker in a union.

Now that I read that, it does sort of look like someone arguing with themselves... I dunno. We need RBA in here to give us some expert troll analysis.

Hehe, probably. That's why we need some troll psychology in here.

Oh the irony... I have a car in my queue with the customer complaint of, "THROTTLE STUCK TO FLOOR,,,ONE TIME,,,CRUISE WAS NOT ON, HAPPENED WHEN CUSTOMER TRIED TO PASS AND PUSHED THE  ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR.HARD "

Vehicle is a GMC Acadia... I've yet to determine whether there is a legitimate concern here and what the cause is but I'll update this thread with more info.

I determined that there was nothing wrong with this vehicle, and that the customer may have been either an attention whore, lying, or that there was some other external influence going on.  But I thought I'd share this; just for grins I stuck the rubber floor mat over the accelerator pedal and released the pedal.  I found that the return spring was strong enough to lift the mat up, hence making that concern moot.

Jon?

Ah, so you're part of the GMC conspiracy to keep their SUVs of death a secret.

Is the complaint that the mat is going over top of the pedal or that it's folding underneath it?  I can't see how the latter would cause it to remain pushed down, I could see where it would prevent you from pressing on it, but not the other way around.

The complaint was simply that the pedal stuck in the WOT position and wouldn't return to rest.  I couldn't see any way for that to occur.  FWIW I checked with my manager to determine whether we should take any action and he had me simply document my inspection and the info I checked with TAC and via SI and my scantool and send her on her way.  It's on his shoulders now.  If it were me, I would have called in a regional rep and maybe see if GM wanted to have us replace the pedal and send out the old one for inspection by engineers in Detroit, but that's not my prerogative.

Fucking floor mats were never a fucking goddamn problem until now.  Jesus Christ, people, they're fucking floor mats.  Learn how to use them.
