I like the Vibe/Matrix. It seems to be a fun little practical hot hatch.

Jon?

I owned a Matrix for a few years.  So I'll take the Vibe.

The Pirate

Ugh, I really dislike both of these cars.  But the Vibe is better looking IMO, so I'll go with that.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

The engine was a terrible fit in those cars, since the poorly spaced gear ratios caused it to bog on every upshift.
Kia EV6 GT-Line / MX-5 RF 6MT

Colin

I drove both of these...... they were equally noisy. Unacceptably noisy.

I'll have a Kia Soul, please, instead.

When? These models came out in 2004, and the 2ZZ option didn't last that long in either car.

You could keep it from bogging by twisting the tach up to 9000 before every shift.  You just have to make sure you have a towel to wipe up the blood coming from your ears.

yeah, this was one that I test drove where the smaller engine was a better fit. But the GT looked better.

And I like the Vibe's looks way better than the Matrix.
Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

Vibe was made in California, therefore it was much easier to ship to Japan than Matrix made in Eastern Canada?

Weren't both made at NUMMI?

No. The Vibe was made at NUMMI; the Matrix was made at the Toyota plant in Cambridge, Ontario.
