My goodness - there are some hideous cars in there. Give me a Polo, please.

Hmm, 500, Polo, or Swift?

Why no Panda or Twingo?

We don't get those in the US. The Panda has yet to be confirmed, and Renault hasn't returned to the US.

Oddly enough, I don't see loads of 500, iQs, CR-Zs, Polos, or Swifts driving around either.

This is for next year. All of those cars are coming here next year.

Deceptive title, then. Should  be "Possible subcompacts of the indefinite future."

And next year is definitely 2011.

I saw one of these recently, they look absolutely disgusting.

I'm not a massive fan of any of the above but if I had to choose, Fiesta or Honda hybrid coupe (it looks kinda cool).

I'm glad no-one voted for the new Micra......... it has to be one of the most disappointing new cars of 2010. The outgoing model is really rather good, but the new model looks like it ought to be the previous one, and the interior quality of the ones on show at Geneva was just plain cheap. You can tell that this version is aimed at Growth markets rather than western Europe (sadly).

As to the rest........... well, I am biased and would choose the Fiat (even in non Abarth spec).

The Polo GTi, btw, got rather luke warm reactions from the UK press. Quality car, for sure, but not really a fun car. The Spark is more like a comedy car inside........ just wait til you see one, assuming you get the same interior as the Euro versions. But, it outsells the Agila/Splash by 3:1, as it is several thousand pounds cheaper. The Aveo is nowhere in Europe.

I think if the Micra is cheap, it will sell.  It might almost be appealing as a real back to basics car.
