technically, Bavaria is a state within Germany. Home of BMW, but Mercedes, Porsche, and VW/Audi are located in other states.

Currently, the R8. Of all time, there are a ton of them, but I'd have to give mention to the BMW 507.

It's the one classic car I have a true desire to own some day. Too bad they're worth north of $200,000 if you're lucky enough to find one on sale.

Wimmer, I'm glad you mentioned the NSU RO 80 - this came out in 1967!!! Revolutionary beautiful design that influenced Audis design language for decades to come. It even had a rotary engine!

Oddly enough, I'd have to say it comes from BMW, a company that has never made looks a top priority.

The classic 300SL Roadster comes in a close second:

I really need to get the Euro spec headlights once I get all the other problems on my car figured out.

Good Job sir.  :ohyeah:

Just one more:

Yeah...I know, it's not technically Mercedes bodied...but god damn

Interesting that 2o6 woudl nail my favorite German car on his first try. The big coupes from BMW were excellent right from the start, but the 3.0CS was the pinnacle.

the follow ups, while nice in their own right, are still just shadows of that car:

Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

I'm quite parital to the German cars from the 80's; in addition to the 6-series and 8-series shown above, I also have a thing for the high-end Benzes of the era:

and although I don't consider the W126 sedan to be among the most beautiful, they're quintessential and iconic for its decade; kind of like Germany's '59 Cadillac.

Not seen many good things said about the Z-8. But it was nice to look at.

I don't know why but I've always liked these ^^^

As you know, it's a legend in Germany and highly regarded by knowledgeable car nuts.  :ohyeah:

Maybe not the best looking, but certainly the best loved car in history:
