thankfully, my car's recognizable enough for what it is to the point of being unmistakable. but I seriously lost count of how often the s2k got mistaken for a Miata. I even had someone incorrectly identify it as a BMW Z4

the most interesting is when I had the old Q45. It was most often mistaken for a Maxima, but I've also had it mistaken for a Volvo (?) and on a separate occasion, a Lincoln.

Stopped at an interstate rest stop and a family in a pickup stops.  A boy about 11 walkes over and asks if the E-Type is a Viper.

I've had people walk up and ask what it is while they stare at the jaguar E-Type logo on the boot lid.

No mistaken identity with the 3.  When I had my 240SX, I encountered a tollbooth worker who I think must have thought it was a 240Z.  She asked me if it was a "Nissan 240" and then commented that it looked like it was in really good shape for such an old car.
