New muffler is installed. Louder than stock but not obnoxious. (Still much quieter than the El Camino)
It's actually just a straight pipe with a helmholtz chamber to cut the obnoxious frequencies that cause drone.

Yeah. Lots of stuff to help isolate the intake noise vs. other NVH.

The little black thing that says Paco Moto is what goes in the intake tube, so you can still connect the little rubber hose that goes to the valve cover.
And the kit comes with a rubber grommet for the firewall too.

I shouldn't post this, because its bad luck. I knocked on wood. The little 2011 MX-5 is a good car. No, a really good car.



Not just because of it's incredible cornering/handling capabilities, no. I love those things, use them in the commute. Its a freeway assault machine, first rate. It's horn is wimpy, but other than that, OK.
It's got 90K on it with the OE brakes. It hasn't ever broken down.
It's a commuter with me. That's all it does.
Just changed the oil today. A time of appreciation for the little car built in Hiroshima. Ya. Enola Gay. Damn. Sorry about that bomb, guys. You make good cars. Arigatō.

At the Mazda dealership to fix the airbag light that has been flashing for over a year.

Passenger side seatbelt pretensioner. Matches the blinking light code I looked up (3 blinks then 9 blinks)
$500 something bucks.

They also checked the alignment and the rear is toed out. That is probably why my car seemed more tail happy than other ND's in my autocross class. I got some new springs, so I'll swap those on and then get it aligned

I recommend a newer one with a backup camera. My 2016 has a pretty good blind spot when backing out of parking spots
