I don't care. This is a luxury car. The fast lane already has four Lotus threads....

I can't help but think "Tesla Model S". Given the recent cooperation on the Roadster, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the Model S with a regular powertrain.

The interior is full of ew. The car weighs two tons. It, imo, is full of Rapide-sized fail.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

If anything, It will sell very well. Looks good (unlike the Aston Martin Intrepid, or the super ugly Panamera) and has a proven name behind it.

I once had a lady ask me what a Lotus was when we were at a dealership looking at cars at the same time. If the name is proven, may I ask to whom? Do those people typically buy stiff-riding, Toyota-engined sedans when they're blowing through $100k on a lux car?

Lotus making this car is even more wrong than when Porsche released the Cayenne.

Lotus is also broke (much like Porsche was before the Cayenne).

Lotus has the entire backing of Proton, it's not broke.  It was making money other than the fact that it has to pay Proton on every vehicle it makes.

Do you know how many tiimes I've been asked, "Who makes Lotus?"  Ask any Lotus owner.  And then you have older folks thinking either Ford Makes Lotus, due to Lotus-Ford race cars in the 60s.  Then there's people that thinks Lotus are kit cars because they used to be imported as complete kits to be assembled to avoid VAT.

So proven name?  Not likely..

I'm not going to say much more because you're a know-it-all 'tard who, well, knows it all anyway. But you're wrong. About most things.

Ever read any of Wimmer's threads?    I think their main target is the US with these cars.

The design language reminds me of recent Renault designs, especially the Laguna coupe.

That doesn't mean that the market for big luxury sedans don't exist. (In Europe)

But, I think this will sell like hot cakes.

Raza

It looks like a Panamera had a baby with a Rapide with help from the Estoque, and it came out looking worse than the Rapide.

if they're truly looking to move up into the luxury market, they would need to improve on their build quality.  For now, you can really tell that it's hand built.. with British quality by something that just came straight out of a pub.  It's not a good thing when you can find cigarette butts and lost tools in the middle of body panels..

This thing is DOA

I'm TELLING you guys. FR 4 seat hatch w/4 normal swinging doors and a legit powerplant. In this case, the Toyota 4.6L V8 mated to a 7 speed DSG box. It would be priced the same, it could be relatively light and would bring difference that would be of value in the (IMO) overcrowded big luxury sedan market. Basically Lotus should have made what the Panamera should have been... a 4 door sports car.

No such thing.

And this is an ugly fail. So just like the ugly fail that is the Panamera it will probably do well.
