I'm comparing the P10 G20, which has IRS. Not the P11 G20 which swaps it out for a torsion bar.

Both cars have the SR20DE, and an LSD at the front wheels.

However, the G20 is heavier, and slower. But the 200SX SE-R is smaller and less luxurious. The G20 also has IRS, whereas the 200SX has a torsion bar.

I almost bought a G20 instead of PlastiCar. So you know which one I'd likely take.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

The P10 had a MacPherson strut rear suspension, which isn't exactly the best of independent setups.  In fact, it's not appreciably better than a torsion beam semi-independent.

I almost bought a G20 over my Neon. Sadly, I didn't have the cash.

Care to elaborate?

At least from my personal experience, I don't like the feeling that the rear wheels are slightly tethered together.

Not to say it's bad, but I'd rather have chapman struts over a twist axle.

Do you know what an anti-roll bar (or anti-sway bar) is or does and are you aware that essentially every car with an independent suspension uses one?

No way, the SE-R was supposed to be a fun little run-about in its day and I'm sure it would be a lot better than walking.

I went with the 200SX. If I had the G20 then deep down I'd know that I'm just driving a more expensive Nissan that's not really any better.

That's the 200SX I'd have.

I'm not going to pretend I'm an engineer, but I will say that the G20 I drove was overall a pretty fun car. It was slow, but the handling was pretty good.

It's sort of like a precursor to the TSX.

Almost exactly. It's a great little car.

At the time, no. IIRC, the G20 was more comparable to a Midsize rather than a Compact.

Besides, the Integra was the G20's main competitor.

G20 was a Sentra, Integra/EL was a Civic..

Yet and still, the EL was not sold in the US, and the new CSX (IIRC) fails to sell as strongly as the EL did.

2o6

I'm sorry, EL is a terrible name. It makes me think of these:

NomisR

It was stupid to try to sell a luxury version of an economy car in the US anyways.  Look at A3?  The reason Integra worked is that it didnt' really try to pretend to be luxury and wasn't really anymore expensive than a similarly equipped Civic at the time.

The Infiniti G20 was NOT a Sentra.  It was a Nissan Primera.

Given the choice, I'd take a first generation (P10) G20 with leather, sunroof and a manual gearbox.  I'd rather walk than drive a Sentra.
