I 100% agree.

The Accord looks a lot better, if that helps any.

The Civic has tons less miles...  a Challenger appears.

If he wants size just tell him to get a 2008+ Taurus.  Also have him check MKZs.  Around here they sell for 14-15K and come with 3.5V6, AWD, heated/cooled seats etc.

17K vs 29K, not significant enough to have any bearing, IMO.

Oh I must have been thinking about one of wookie's cars with 50K+

The Subaru we were looking at had 50K miles.  I think he's going to go for the Civic.  My dad test drove it, and said it's in perfect condition.  It's also a 2008.  The Accord is a 2006, so as of January it's 5 years old.  With a 4 yr. loan, the car would be 9 years old when paid off.  He'll likely pay whatever he gets off early, but as far as loans go, newer seems to be better.  One of my concerns with the Civic was performance in inclement weather but my Dad said it did pretty well (3 feet on the ground where they are).

:rage:

Still a great little car -- with better resale value than the Accord anyway.

One can't be picky when shopping used, and it meets all other criteria.  I just drove the car.  Steering and braking aren't as good as in my car, but I'm pretty impressed otherwise.

Take the Civic.  Better gas mileage and the larger size of the Accord will go mostly unused.

That's what he bought.  I drove it tonight.  Nice car.  Steering wheel controls for cruise and radio, sunroof, MP3/aux input, loads better to drive than the Buick it replaced.  He's pretty happy, and the deal worked out favorably.

Yeah, I think so.  I was gunning for the Accord early on, but the Civic was a better car to have a loan on (newer, etc.).  I still like my Protege more though.

Yeah, I don't think I'd personally buy a base model Civic with an automatic, but it's a competent computer car that will no doubt be reliable.

Not surprised at all. After driving both, the Civic is still more entertaining. Much better mileage and the space ain't bad for a car that size.  Good choice.  :ohyeah:

Definitely.  I loved my 2000 Civic, and this new one is only better as far as road manners, comfort, etc.  I'm pretty impressed with the car, and he loves it.

I loved everything about the Civic Si's I drove, except the steering feel.  What were your thoughts on it?  I took the P5's steering feel for granted.

I feel that Honda has regressed with steering feel, brakes, etc.  My 2000 Civic DX had steering that was quite a bit lighter than the Protege's steering, but still very communicative.  No such thing with my brother's Civic.  It's light, with barely any feel.  Good commuter car, but it lacks the feedback across the board that you saw in past Honda cars.

I too am always amazed with the steering feel (and heft) in my car, particularly after driving something else.  Brakes too.  It blows the Civic out of the water with braking (power and pedal feel).  I've said it before, but the more that I drive other [plebeian] cars, the more I like mine.

Hasn't Honda switched over to electric steering assist?
