Car's a pleasure to putt around in (that's all I've had the opportunity to do, thanks to the regularly awful traffic) but I have to say that I hate these newfangled floor-hinged accelerators. It robs you of the ability to blip the tip of the gas pedal with your toe, because the bottom of the pedal has practically no mechanical advantage.

Floor hinged accelerator?  Are you sure you didn't buy a 1965 Volkswagen Beetle instead of a TSX?

Actually, several other cars we drove had this too - the salespeople mumbled something about it being a response to bunched up floormats and Toyota lawsuits. It's dumb.

Oh well. But then why do you want to blip the throttle?

Not for blipping, for feathering.Sometimes you need only 5% throttle to maintain speed, but the crappy hinge system only lets you input in increments of 20% unless you move your whole damn foot on the pedal and actuate the toe.

Oh, gotcha. The 944 (and I think all Porsches) has a floor-hinged pedal, and it doesn't get in the way of anything. I bet you'll get used to it.

Laconian, can you take a pick of how much junk will fit in your trunk? Is it decent for a wagon?

Toots, there are quite a few photos online that demonstrate the TSX's cargo capacity. If that's what you are talking about. Which I hope is the case.

Up until the 993 - the 996 on (I believe) have the more modern top hinged clutch and brake and top hinged throttle (though the pedal extends all the way to the floor.

very cool. TSX's are probably the best-looking wagons on the market right now. Quite an accomplishment considering Acura's other offerings.

Don't lie to him just because he made the bad decision to pay money for that monstrosity.  It's hideous.

The crazy Acura grille is definitely less objectionable here than it is on the TL, where it dominates the whole front end and spills out onto the hood.

The Saab's taller roof might be what's bringing its numbers so close to the Acura's. It looks like the cargo area behind the seats is significantly shallower.
