Eventually reached 200 km/h later on but because of the rather heavy traffic conditions I had both hands on the wheel at that point...

I tied my all-time best over my roadtrip at 92 mph in PlastiCar.

How did you manage to do that while keeping the rpms under 2k?  :evildude:

I think I got up to 67 on a downhill. The limiter on this truck is set to 65 for Canada.

Tapped 105mph on a friend's motorcycle last week out here on some backroads. It's a 650, so it picks up speed much quicker than my 500. :)

Wasn't driving, but I just went 120 in the passenger seat of a Lotus Elise on a two lane backroad.

I did reach 200 km/h shortly after this picture was taken. Love the way the Benz accelerates. And it "only" has 292-hp mated to a 7-speed automatic.  :praise:

It certainly feels fast in the heavy E-Class. Performance wise I've got no complaints on this car. Even our ex-E320 with its 224-hp V6 was very quick and had all the power anyone could ever want for quick overtaking maneuvers etc. And the gas mileage with the E350 CGI is incredible to. I'm getting better fuel economy with this car than I do in the 118i!

Nice.

Hit the century mark recently myself.  Clear 90 most days...

I hit 75 mph on the 110 today...there's something to be said for that.

292 HP is quite a bit.  It's a large car, but that's still a good amount.

Drove a Chrysler Pacifica today.  Why do I like those so much?!  Only did 65 or so.

I think I hit 70, but it was in a 35 zone.

It certainly is also a very fast car. I think the efficiency of the 7Gtronic transmission is a huge factor in making the car feel fast. Programming the right mode is also important. This transmission gives you the options of C, S and M (comfort, sport and manual). Comfort feels noticeably lazy and relaxed whereas sport feels lively (transmission shifts more and is more responsive). Manual gives you full control over the transmission gear changes via the paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

An E60 BMW 5-Series can't go faster anyway. All that "electronically limited to 155 mph" marketing stuff is just that: marketing hype.

The BMW 118i got a new muffler. The original one was so affected by...RUST...for some reason. The dealership replaced it free of charge. No wonder the car was so loud at a mere 140 km/h.
