I saw zero le between Steamboat and Fort Collins. Amazing.
You were lucky,  man.  I've been lucky enough times that I can't complain.
A good friend will come bail you out of jail...BUT, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, DAMN...that was fun!

I pegged 100 a couple times in the rental Sienna we had last week.

Argh! I hit 230 kph in an S4 last week, I do have GPS proof of that though. :praise:

Yeah, I think I have my incriminating GPS system still around.  Top speed was something like 127.

If you got that speed from GPS it's probably faster than me. BMW speedos overstate speed by 5% easily.

Does that really work? I wonder b/c at our last club meet a couple of Z4 owners where saying exactly that, that around those speeds it can be pouring but you don't get wet. Really?

Yes.  If you go windows up.  Otherwise it comes around the windshield and drips on you, particularly on the driver's side, where the wipers push the water to.  My friend was in the car with me and he was surprised that he wasn't getting wet.

Crazy. Thats good to know. Do you know if this is the case with any other convertibles?
I want to try something crazy now next time it rains.. lol

Had the Mitsubishi out yesterday for a nice Sunday drive. Hit 100 several times and went up to about 125. The car doesn't have much over 100.

True for Miata and G37, especially if you turn up the climate control fan. I think it makes an overpressure bubble that keeps the water from coming inside.

In the red car I get wet with the top up in the rain

Took the Z out last night, sadly it's the first time I've had it out for the year. Minnesota weather has been shitty.

Anyway, after ONLY driving around with 290HP in the EVO I forgot how fast that car is. Hit 100-110 several times on short straights between some of the twisties. I'll never get tired of that car.

Not alot but a big jump coming from seat time in the miata and evo. I adjusted to it after a hour or so, I still am going to probably shoot for 550-600.

Can't say for rain, but snow for sure in a 987 Boxster S.

I would think four seater convertibles would still get their backseats wet.  My bulkhead gets some water on it, but it's all plastic, so it doesn't really matter.

It only gets critical at around 230 km/h.  :winkguy:

Oh, I almost forgot.  I was "racing" an M3 to work the other day (more like keeping up, barely), a white V8 convertible.  We did half the drive at 90-110, not really weaving through traffic because it was light, but we were cutting through it pretty well.  By the airport, the M3 driver slows down, which is smart, because there are lots of cops there and it was a holiday week.  I pulled alongside to give him the thumbs up.  And it turns out it's a guy who sits on my floor, whom I've never spoken to before.   He's so quiet, you never would think of him as someone who would have an M3.

Dinged 100 for the first time in a few weeks.  Felt good.  Real good.

I really want to take a road trip now.  Lonely western roads at speed sound like a really nice way to unwind.

I was looking at what it would cost in fuel to drive to my grandma in Idaho (she's not doing real well, apparently) and it's about $220 round trip for gas alone. :mask:
