Well body work is much more expensive. But maintenance is good old Honda. Plus the OG ones are on like 16s :lol
Well I've looked into NSX's before. If I can't find an RX-7 then one day I'd look into an NSX. And from what I found they are very reliable. But if something needs to be worked on it will cost you an ass load in parts and time.
Probably just because THEY CAN charge you more when you dive an NSX.

That and working on a mid engine car can be more of a pain in the ass sometimes.

VTEC_Inside

Maintenance wouldn't be a big issue. We already know an NSX tech that does work at his home. He replaced the transmission case on the NA1 when the snap ring went. It cost my buddy about $3000, but it would have been almost double that at a dealer.

Anyway some pics....

The NA1 days after he got it:

Crappier weather, but tried to match the angle with the new one:

Not crazy about the angle on this pic, but the color... damn..

Yea, but I don't have a lift at the house. So I won't be turning any wrench on any car.

I wasn't saying that I wouldn't get one because of cost of repair. I just said I think they cost more to work on then an S2000.

I want an FD, cost of repair isn't something I even look at!

Its my fault... I came up with "ALLALLOY" originally, which he bought, but then it bugged him because technically steel is an alloy as well.

Then I did this one in Photoshop to copy the Ferrari from Ferris Bueller.

He tried to get NRVOUS, but not available, so "2 NRVOUS" it was...

Now he's toying with getting "1 OF 2" as there were only 2 Canadian market NSXs painted that color from the factory (according to what the community knows).

Is it me or does the NA1 look better than the NA2?

The fixed lamps look a bit like an afterthought.  Which they are, so it's fitting.  I prefer the original model.

You can tell in that picture especially that those headlights aren't meant to be there.

Raza is correct. I find that the original design is almost always better looking then the face lift ones on any car. And the NSX's fixed headlamps just look wrong like it was never supposed to have them. Because it wasn't.

Just off the top of my head I can think of many cars that the original looked better

NSX
RX-8
3000GT

Believe it or not, the top speed of the NSX actually increased when aerodynamic mods were made, including the fixed headlights. It went from 168 mph to 175 or something like that.

Evidently the little "wing" insert under the main one at the rear was responsible for some of that increase. You can see it in the rear 3/4 view up there.

Don't care. The original still looks much better.

Plus BiXenon lighting is pure win from a visibility perspective.  But I do agree it spoils the looks a bit.

As far as exposed headlights go, those are inoffensive, so I wouldn't care one way or the other.

It's not just the lights but the whole bumper cover redesign is ugly. It would have looked better with the same bumper from the NA1 and a headlight design kinda like the 300ZX had.

They are for me. I can't stand the front end on the fix lamp NSX. I'd pay even more for the pop up one even if it's older.
