Coke, by a huge margin.

Mexican Coke's even better.

Mexican Coke made it's way up to my local grocer, and OMG is it great.

I still like Pepsi, though.

Coke Zero is better than Pepsi One, so Coke.

Pepsi by a landslide. Both are a little too sweet for me, but Pepsi if I have to.

I'm also an RC Cola fan.

Yes, they do vary it for regional tastes. They sweeten the bajeezus out of it here because our taste buds are calibrated to high-sugar diets.

Also, This American Life replicated the Coke recipe: http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/427/original-recipe

They found the original recipe and augmented it to replicate the purity of spices and flavorings available in the late 1800's. Jones Soda Co. then bottled the concoction. Guess what - 100% like coke.

Most local breweries also offer their Coke or Spezi versions and I found those to be much sweeter (but crap tasting) compared to the official Coke we get here.

I'm more of a Mezzo-Mix drinker. Do they offer this in the US?

Nope. If it's a coca cola product, you could probably get samples at the Coca Cola museum in Atlanta.

Some of you guys call them "sweet?" No way, you want real sweet then come down south and let me make you some tea or lemonade.

It's mix of sugar Coke with orange Fanta. Tastes quite good. The recipe is something like 65% Coke and 35% Fanta.

Coke, please, although every now and then I have a little bit of a Pepsi craving. Not often, mind.

Side note: you know all the historic ad prints and other such paper-based paraphernalia in there?  My dad has restored pretty much all of it.

That might actually taste good.  As a kid, I always mixed Coke and Sprite.

I shall have to try that.

And maybe I'll check the local mexican food mart to see if they have mexican coke. I've never seen it in a regular grocery store around here.

You have to look closely.  The grocery store that I go to often seems to get the Mexican Coke in every 2 or 3 months.  It's always tucked out of main sightlines on a bottom shelf.

I found Mexican Coke at a random gas station along I-84 in the middle-of-nowhere eastern Oregon once. Now, whenever I drive that stretch, I can't find the exit. It's like it disappeared, Mexican Magical Realism style.

I've never seen one here.

I googled where to find Mexican coke and there's a "Party Source" store that has it. I'll check the Mexican grocery and if they don't have it, I'll hit up the Party Source. Apparently they have Dr. Pepper made with real sugar too.

I'm intrigued by this Mexican Coke revolution. Is it just a matter of high-fructose corn syrup vs. cane sugar?

Also, I think the sugar content in general is slightly lower. If not, it sure does taste like it.

omicron

I see. Count Oz in the cane sugar/slightly less sugar content crowd, then.

We get Mexican Coke by the case at Costco.

My understanding is that Mexican coke is make with real sugar, not corn syrup as a sweetner.
