I really liked the Aurora.

Of course, nothing really lights my fancy like a 3.5 High Output Intrepid.

RWD is the proper wheel drive

I prefer right wheel drive. Only the wheels on the right side are driven. It's great for Nascar racing.

My next car will be definitely AWD or FWD. I don't really care about which wheels are being driven but FWD and AWD are great in the winter and great for those times where I find myself driving to clients in provincial locations with muddy and slippery roads. The 1er handles like crap in the wet and especially in the snow.

3.0L V6

Buick Lacrosse Super

Probably the ultimate sleeper.

It will perform like it's a V8, unlike the Northstar/SHO V8 powered cars that will perform like V6s during acceleration and V8s with respect to fuel economy.

Nah, I need something small outside and roomy inside. Small outside for easier parking on cramped city parking spaces and roomy inside for me and my equipment. I've got two large suitcases with lighting equipment (and I may need a small diesel/gasoline generator soon), a selection of tripods, my camera and lens case etc. It fits into the 1er just fine for now but with my growing collection of accessories that won't be true for long.

A car like a BMW X1 or Mercedes GLK with AWD is interesting. Or maybe a used Audi A3 Sportback with a large trunk in either FWD/AWD is also appealing. I don't need RWD to be honest.

Even with the summer and winter tires, the 1er is pretty. The rear tends to break out. For some reason I've not experienced this with our ex-E320 or 300SE, which were also RWD. The two Benzes were more composed during the winter than the 118i is. I guess it's true what they say about BMWs in the winter: they handle like crap in those environments - moreso than other RWD cars.  :tounge:

The only G-Class I would drive is the G270 CDI "Worker". Fuel economy and lots of interior space. But parking will be a bitch in the city.

I thought it was the GPGXP that used wider tires in the front.  I remember the press noting that as one of the key differences between the GXP and the Impala SS and was one of the reasons the GXP seemed to handle the power better than the SS.
I think it was the GXP.

X1 sounds like a terrible choice; just as cramped as the 1-series, but none of the handling and worse fuel economy and looks.

You should really get a Golf or similar, those cars are designed to be roomy and easy to live with.

GLK then.

For my next car I have the following requirements:

-FWD/AWD
-Diesel
-Compact dimensions (but not to small)
-Spacious inside (for cargo reasons)
-High payload capacity

Cars like a Benz GLK or BMW X1 or the new Audi Q3 fit those requirements. I don't really need or want an SUV, but I do want something with good build quality and a bit of sporty handling. Other choices are a used A3 Sportback or, oh god, minivan a la Volkswagen Touran.  :mask:

I also like the Fiat Bravo and the Citroen C4/C5.

or
CRX or AE86 Corolla?

That's only because the S14 that was around at the same time was a turd.  I'm quite convinced it was targeting Camry Solara buyers rather than actual enthusiasts.  I'd take an S13 over a 2nd generation Teg, though.
