Two entirely different vehicles built for entirely different purposes.  Better question:

Buick Roadmaster or Lincoln Continental?
or
CRX or AE86 Corolla?
No no no

I chose those cars specifically to drive home the point that FWD is "never" as good as RWD or is moot. The idea that RWD instantly makes something more of a driver's car than any FWD car is wrong.

RWD when done right is always better than FWD but there are a lot of FWD cars that are more fun than many RWD cars.

As far as the CRX vs AE86.... IDK man a CRX w/a B16 sounds like a lot more fun than a wheezy 4AGE AE86

Except the B16 was never offered in American market CRXs.  The Si only came with the wheezy D16, which was even less powerful than the downrated 4AGEC that Toyota offered in the US market AE86.  And if you want to open the door to motor swaps, I'll raise your B16 with a 20v 4A-GE swap in the AE86 (or 4A-GZE if you want to stick with motors that were offered in US market cars).

I thought this was a panther?

Nope.  Continental was actually based on the Taurus platform.

Interesting.

I never really paid attention to them so I had no idea.

Learned something new today.

Well, I raise your 4A-GZE with a B18C!

I don't have any experience with the AE86 but I know the suspension on the CRX is phenomenal, even in stock form. Overall point being in some cases FWD is not always a game ender.

Same here. I thought the Continental and Grand Marquis were platform twins...

Yep, and I'll take the RWD car every time. When you're talking about cars in the same class. Perhaps it wouldn't be so important in some family car. But all others.....

Apparantly, the old FWD Hyundai Eqqus was available with a V8, as was the Mitsubishi Dignity and Proudia.
