We'll let the POLICE do their job.  It's THEIR JOB to find out who did it, not ours.
Actually, no.

If you know something, or are able to uncover it, then it is incumbent upon you to get that info to, or at least share it with, the police.

I promise you; if you (bro) does not care, the police will not care.  They have enough on their plates, and will only go so far with uninterested, and univolved, complainants.

If you do not care, they do not care.

HINT:  WE DON'T CARE.

It's gone.  The person(s) responsible will eventually be found one way or another.

Yes, I know that.

Which is why you (your brother) would be under the microscope.  ;)

It would be rather silly for the police to investigate someone because they aren't putting in time and money to do something that would have no benefit to them (it would only benefit the insurance company since they would then have something to sell to a salvage yard to help recoup the cost of the claim). I would hope that the police officers investigating the theft employ common sense and understand why CJ's brother doesn't want to continue to use his own resources to look for the car. At this point it wouldn't even be his car, it would be the insurance company's car.

If I had an actual TypeR, I would have it rolling on hubcaps and remove the rear spoiler and all the badging.
Yeah I think I would actually do the same thing. I'd keep all the Type R bits around just for resale but there's no way I'd drive around in a thief magnet like that.

I'd keep all the Type-R stuff and just mount this on the roof.  :evildude:

It's not like I'd ever lose a race, though. It could just shoot out the tires of any opposing car.

Rupert

Good point.

On the other hand, who would race you?

Actually, could you shoot out just the tires? Or would the rest of their car get shot out, too?

Hmm, good point. Might have to dial the gun back a little bit. Maybe a more reasonable 100 rounds a minute, that way it'll be able to stop before putting holes in a perfectly good car. (I'm assuming the driver would bail pretty quick, so finders-keepers, right? )

Rupert

There ya go! This is a good plan.

Of course its YOUR business, its YOUR car.
(brothers, but you know what I mean)

It is not point any longer to get the car back.  It is to bring the people who took it to justice.

Even if I didn't want the car back, I'd be doing everything to help the police and hunt that fucker down.

That is one of the significant benefits of insurance - it let's the victim get on with life without having to deal with the criminal element or whether or not LE cares about recovering the car (or what's left of it). Definitely let LE do their job (or not) and get on with life and the check for $10k.

Question: Who in their right mind sells an ITR rear seat by itself? No one is going to turn it into a race car...not when it's worth so much.

I don't see why you don't understand that. You're the one who has a hard on for Volvos, what's wrong with him always wanting Integras? They're good cars.

There are too many E39's and E46's hovering around for about 1/2 to 3/4 of that price.

I would rock an SVT Focus all day as long as I got to keep the 940.  He needs to get something that's cheaper to insure, less commonly stolen, and with tail light gaskets that don't leak...

Heck, you could likely get an RSX for that price. Likely even a Type-S.

ITRs are quickly becoming sought after classics.

I'm not suggesting its the best use of that money, but often times there's no explaining these things. Just as there are places where an AE-86 Toyota Corolla is a status symbol, there are still those who put the ITR up on a pedestal.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

What sucks about the AE86, is that about 10 years ago, they were dirt cheap and totally undesirable.
