Audi A2 concept

I don't understand the purpose of this model.

A4 = Midsize (theoretically, or at least goes head on at the 3-series and others)

A3 = Compact

A1 = subcompact

A2 = ???


Yeah, it's a little bigger than the A1, but wouldn't that be accomplished by simply making a 5-door A1?

The A2 is basically like the Prius of Audi.

A shame about the last one. Under 3l/100km for the eco diesel was - and is - impressive. A bit ahead of time I guess. Interestingly it now belongs to one of the mainstream cars with the best resale value.

I loved the Audi A2 when it came out. At the time the design seemed so futuristic and the fact that this little "economy car" packed so much advanced technology at the time (lightweight aluminum build, optional AWD etc.) raised its overall premium status.

In S-Line trim they looked quite nice.

I like the old A2 better. This one is fugly. The BMW i3 looks much better and also seems more advanced.

Yep, it?s been available for about 3 months now. I think it is selling quite well. Enough to for the first time boost Audi sales above BMW here (if you don?t count MINI sales).

It is priced basically head to head with the MINI.

I think the A1 looks quite sharp, especially in S-Line trim. 



Anyway, I think this A2 concept uses the same frontal design, just more "van-like". I think the concept will look better in person, especially since the A1 doesn't look that interesting in photos, but in person it looks quite nice.

I don't like the A1. It's way too big for the shape.
