I heard that the Infiniti logo appears on the dollar bill in three different places.

The pyramid with the eye was created as a secret code that had to be used because of the controversy surrounding the original design, which used the Infiniti logo.

They make good cars but I just don't see a world takeover.

Especially with the new styling direction.  It's pretty ugly.

That's why I put up this poll. I just can't see Infiniti taking over the world with more VQ-powered lukewarm crossovers.

They only have two sedans. The rest are crossovers and SUV's.

IT ALREADY HAPPENED!

Saw my first Infiniti TV commercial on German TV today. Funny thing was, it was only about their SUVs EX, FX and somethign else (might have been that new JX thingy).

What a horrible commercial. It talked about "How good it is that Infiniti exists" ("Wie gut, das es Infiniti gibt!"). Sounds like a takeover to me! :tounge:

Don't be fooled! That's part of the plan; no one will see it coming!

They only have 5 models total. Sedans account for half the line up. :nutty:

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

No, they just have too many crossovers. They could use an LS/7er/S-Class fighter, but aside from that, I think they're good.

That can't be for real. In 2003, the Infiniti G35 coupe was one of the best looking cars on the market, at any price. Is this where we arrive after 10 years of progress?

Wouldn't surprise me. The G37, IMO, was a pretty solid downgrade (stylingwise) from the G35C.

There must be some kind of competition with Acura as to who can ruin their previous designs more and pass them off to the public. That's the best way I can explain the travesties posted above.

The Eterne sedan is to preview the next Sentra, not the G/Skyline.

It goes on sale in a few weeks.

I was thinking about the Ellure concept (Eterne is a Lotus sedan)

They look pretty similar....

Yeah, toned down for production, that would make a lot of sense as the next Sentra. It would keep the precedent of previous Sentras resembling mini-Maximas.

Now in 2010 we received the VK56VD and the MR16DDT which both fit the timeline of the jpg above.  The twin cvtc was introduced with the 2006/7 VQ35HR and the mirror finish on the 2007/8 VR38DETT.  In 2009 the VVEL and Hydrogen free DLC was introduced on the VQ37VHR and the VK50VE.

The next links show how they R&D the HCCI( Homogeneous-Charge Compression Ignition) engine:

And finally a link to describe Nissan's VCR( variable compression ratio) piston-crank system:

Holy crap........

If Nissan is actually able to get these technologies on board, they will be really far ahead of the game.

Whoever can get HCCI to market first will have good initial sales too.

I just hope they can deploy these techs reliably and without completely destroying the character of the ICE.

Everyone is working on HCCI.

I think variable compression ratios is still a ways off.  Better control of intake and exhaust valves will happen first.
