The ship from the last Star Trek The Next Gen movie?

Well I originally meant the sword, but now that you mention it, I'll take the spaceship.

The weapons in my loadout aren't really all that loud to begin with; I'm sure it'll do the trick with a bunch of rotting corpses.

Remember, this is my primary weapon:

You're still talking probably 150-170dB unsuppressed, and 100-130 dB suppressed.  If you've never heard 100 dB, it's friggin loud.

Hmm....I've never really measured it, but I'm pretty sure I've heard something that was 100dB before.  Music, cars, other gunshots.

Subway train, motorcycle, etc. are all around 100 db.

Anything street legal is only going to be 85 dB (or less).  Even dirt bikes are under 100 dB from the factory (the AMA and FIM have a 94 dB limit for competition).  Also bear in mind that dB is a log scale.  Every 6 dB, the sound pressure doubles (and the perceived "loudness" doubles roughly every 10 dB).  Most cars register ~71 dB in the cabin at 70 mph cruise.  85 dB (the threshold for hearing damage) has over 4x the sound pressure and is over twice as loud.  100 dB is nearly 32x the sound pressure and 8x louder.

Guess I shouldn't have trusted the chart I looked at. :rage:

Silencers really don't make a weapon nearly as quiet as they do in the movies.  Especially if you're using regular ammo and not special, sub-sonic rounds (which lack take-down power).

Normal 230 gr .45 ACP is subsonic, and nobody ever claims it lacks power.

Besides, the crack from the sonic boom is tactically much less important, as it doesn't give away the direction that the shot is coming from, and people here it only as it passes them.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

There was a scene a while back in South Park where Thanksgiving turkeys were shown pictures of scenic vistas projected on the wall inside the slaughter house. Then a giant horizontal buzz saw sliced across the room, decapitating them all.
