Do cop cars have in-car sound recorders?

Because if they do, they're probably laughing their asses off down at the cop shop at my ultra loud rendition of "Homeward Bound" by Simon and Garfunkel. I thought of that after I parked the police Crown Vic I was road testing after a repair.

ha , yeah, most of the recorders my agencies have are actually two cameras in one unit - one facing outward and one facing back at the passengers.  They record sounds too...some of the new ones 24/7.  It's amazing the dumb shit criminals say when they're detained in the cop car and the cop is outside.

Most do but whether they record all the time varies accroding to the camera system and state law. Even the "always on" recorders generally only have a short "always" recording span that goes permanent when the video is activated by the officer, otherwise it's recorded over in memory.

I can only hope it's been recorded over by the rantings of some local tweaker/crackhead/whatever. :ohyeah:
