It's really hard for most any car to compete with the gull wing SL.

Gullwing's cool and all, but the 300SL roadster looked better.

Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Mine too. I never liked the tumours growing above the wheels of the earlier ones. The W113 smoothed out the body and I think it had better proportions.

Its an SLR, that's why.
It's an SLS actually, which is a modern day 300SL.  It's in the SL bloodline as far as I'm concerned.

This one would take the cake.

Between the original and the new one, I'm not sure which one I would pick. The original has all that charm and such, but the new one is a lot quicker..

I prefer the 300SL Roadster. It flows better than the Gullwing in my opinion. It also handles better due to a different suspension which means you can actually drive it on a track!  :evildude:

You forgot the 190SL by the way...  :nono:

Why isn't it?

It's an SLS, not an SL.  It's not part of the line.  It's no more an SL than an SLK is.

My favorite is still the W113.

The Pagoda SL is a gorgeous car.  I'd love to own one as a weekend trip car.  It's not a sports car, but for that kind of style, you can easily sacrifice performance.

This is a tough choice.  These are the three I really like the best.

I always saw that as a predecessor to the SLK

What a great run of cars. I seriously can't choose. I love all of them except the W113 & the 1st roadster. Does this only count the convertibles though? I love the C107 Coupe

Nowadays it is considered a predecessor to the SLK, but back in the day it was a cheaper alternative to driving an SL.  :ohyeah:

If a 300SL Gullwing back then was a modern day SL65 AMG today, the 190SL would be something like an SL280.

hmm, not sure what I'd consider the SLC...it was the predecessor to the CL, but was basically a LWB fixed hardtop SL. It's probably closer to the SL line than the SLS or SLK is today.

sportyaccordy

I still think a modern, performance oriented SLC would be the shit. A hard top SL with a serious diet... Very nice.

sounds kinda like a Black Series, but maybe without the crazy engine

One of the hardest polls yet. They're all delightful.

I agree. I'm leaning towards the 190SL as even nicer again.

I think it's the Pagoda for me - one of the most elegant cars ever made. There's not a single generation I'd be unhappy with, though.

Not sure, but a SL73 would be sweet.
