1000 mile check in

- No problems whatsoever. Remember by this time, the Focus had broken rear springs and a dead parking brake.

- Digital gas gauge is annoying. It flashes when it gets down to the last bar, and then when it disappears, the car is on "reserve" fuel.

- The annoying grinds in the tranny went away after I got the tranny oil flushed.

- MPG is good

- I have not vmaxed it yet, only taken it up to 100MPH, which took all day. It's electronically limited to 115MPH. I can't say I've really tried hard enough, though. It defenitely pulls slower than the Focus did. The Focus still had a lot to give at 107MPH before the fuel cut comes in.

Fast fact, xA/xB and Yaris have the same gear ratios, but the final drive on the Yaris is significantly taller. (3.72:1 vs 4.3:1 for the Scion twins)

That explains the reason why the xA and xB were so buzzy (specifically xA) on the freeway.

Eye of the Tiger

Lame. I did 110 in the Accent today just trying to maintain lane etiquitte among the asinine assholes that drive around Chicagoland.

Stop confusing me. It's late at night.

WTF. Oh man, I need to go to bed. Sorry. I have confused myself, let alone you.

Why go to bed so early? Do you have to be to work in the morning?

My sister had an old Tercel I used to whip around. Slow as shit but I remember it fondly.

Bah, enthusiasts, especially those concerned about H&HTM, don't care about such trivialities.

Let us not forget, whether a car is running is subjective.

Because that S-class sucks and it was 4K more than I paid for the Yaris, with worse MPG and it's an older car.

They were great cars when they were new.  But they don't hold up that well.  I'm telling my mom to sell hers because it's one repair away from costing us $5,000 to fix.

That particular car on this lot looks like it had sagging airbags.

They still are having a hard time selling that Mazda CX-7 I drove out of curiosity back in November. It's not a bad car, but it's FWD.

So, I got my license plates today.

Keep it in the glovebox or under the seat, don't worry about it unless a cop gives you grief.

Sucks for you.
