....what would you get? Not at fault, insurance pays the value of your car, within 10% extra, maybe.

If Accent got totalled, I'd just live with the VAN and get a motorcycle. Save my money for a house.

If VAN got totalled, I'd get a Uhaul.

I'd get twenty VANs and a Truckasaurus to eat them (and snort fire)

Probably another Mazda 3. Perhaps with a Skyactiv engine instead of the 2.5.

A few days ago, I learned that its transmission has a hybrid of DSG and autotragic crawlin' torque converter.

Not crazy as the Versa's CVT with a two speed at the end of it.

Cookie Monster

Either an FR-S or NC Miata with the 6 speed and LSD.

To be honest I'm not sure how exactly the "Skyactiv-Drive" transmission works, but as I understand it it has a relatively small torque converter solely for being able to crawl at low speeds and a relatively massive lock-up clutch that's engaged 80-90% of the time for the sake of 'direct' feel and fuel savings.

Probably a bottle of wine and a pizza.

I'd be fucked. I'd get a G37s but I'd not like it near as much as what I've got now. It be more comfortable and have a nicer interior. But it wouldn't be near as fun or have the same personality.

Byteme

Mazda 3 skyactive.  I'd wait for the redesign if I could.

CALL_911

I'd drive the Subaru until I could buy an FR-S.

Depends on which car. If the BMW got totalled, I'd get a repalcement ofthe same type. If the Mustnag got totalled, I'd get a jag XKR. IF the MINI got totalled we'd probably get another MINI or an Abarth.
Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

Raza

If I needed to replace my car immediately, I'd probably get a V6 Mustang.  If I had time, I'd get a Z4 M Coupe or 987 Boxster S.

Split it between a Diesel Jetta (older model year) and a Speed Triple.

MkV Jetta TDIs are pretty damn sweet.

If corvette (wouldn't replace til year end):  either a new 911 Carrera S Cabriolet or a 993 turbo

If 4runner (would replace immediately):  probably another 4runner, possibly a land rover LR4 instead

If the SVT was totalled, I would get either a 2011 Charger R/T or a 2008 BMW 328i convertible.  If the Explorer was totalled, I would get an old pickup and a BMW vert, or a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon.

I'd really want a BMW E92 convertible. Might toy with the idea of a Camaro SS.

I'd probably end up with an 08+ CTS. Or maybe a Genesis sedan or Merc W204 or something or other. Or depending on how well the Caddy performs in this theoretical accident, maybe a Volvo S80.

Definitely.  I'd have the 50mpg runabout for the winter and rainy-days, and the 40mpg rocket. Not a bad combo.

Hmm....  this requires more thought.

With your history, I guess you always have to stay on your toes when it comes to potential car-totaling accidents.

It does keep things interesting, I'll say that. Fortunately, it's been a good 3 years since my last accident. Might have a lot to do with the fact that I'm commuting on the train now.
