Honda CR-Z GT race car looks awesome.  I hope this is an indication that Honda will make the road going car to become a true CRX successor.

280Z Turbo

I think the first gen insight was closer to the CRX than the CRZ. I wish they would have raced that.

Let's put it this way.  If this were out when I was buying a car, it would have been high on my list.  I really like the CR-Z, despite its shortcomings.

You would want a hybrid setup

Id rather they ditch that and replace it with an IRS. Hmmm. DOHC VTEC, IRS, 2 seats, FWD, why does that seem so reassuringly familiar...

I would be happy if the car lost 500lbs and just stuck with the 1.6L from the Fit.

That was then, this is now.  Different criteria.

You know what, this would be OK too, 100HP, 2000lbs, again why does this formula sound so appealing...

Because lightweight cars are an absolute joy to drive. My '73 Karmann Ghia was something like 1700 lbs, with a 50 hp engine. Yet it was a fun car to drive, flicking the tail out at 40 mph around a corner.

Still not quite sure why Honda thought a hybrid was necessary. It's at least 300lbs in battery technology, and the whole system only makes around 5HP more than the 1.6L from the Fit.

Also this thing is about as much a CRZ as a Toyota NASCAR is a Camry

Possibly FE or CO2 regs in the US?

A bit more power would be nice. I feel like I always say this. But my Saturn has 124 hp and is 2400 and is no race car. 140-150 in a 2000 pound car would be more ideal. And considering a 4 cylinder can easily make that power without adding weight, I don't see a reason not to.

The 1.6L from the Fit already passes.....

And then you would've driven one.

The CR-Z looks fantastic. Unfortunately, it's slow, has numb steering, and doesn't handle that well. Great shifter/clutch, though.

There are a few reviews that speak of it favorably.  I tend to remember that fat hillbilly from American Top Gear liked it.
