You know for a 1970s American car that is quite good looking. Still generally speaking your taste for US cars is off by at least a decade.

Styling language in 1970 was still rooted in the same theme as the styling from the mid-60s.  True "70s" styling didn't really show up until ~'72-'73.  Just as the styling language we all associate with the 60s didn't really show up until '62-'63, with many very early 60s cars still featuring cues from the 50s (like tail fins).

True 70s era styling isn't one of my favorites, but IMO the 80s was the true dark age of automotive design.  Every car looked like it was designed by a man equipped with a ruler, a pencil, and some graph paper.  When rectangular headlights were legalized in the US in the late 70s, every manufacturer felt the need to capitalize and the era where "3-box design" was taken literally started to materialize.

That's a sweet car.  It looks to be a '67.

I really like early 60s Pontiacs. Their ad art was awesome too:

The '63 Parisienne was, likely, my favourite design of that era.  The taillights were exquisite.

Thanks man.  I knew it wasn't the same year as my grandpop's car (1965) but it's the same general vintage.

My dad's Ford was a 1966. It was a light tanish gold. Hope there are pics. I will next time I visit with my mom.

The 65-68's were the 3rd generation of Galaxies.  Style-wise, they were my favourite, however, with that generation, they dropped the availability of the legendary 427 R code engine and replaced it with the 7 litre (428) version.  A '64 with the 427 R code engine is worth a fortune now.

By the way, can anyone answer this question.

Why did Ford name one of their cars "Galaxie" (using the German spelling) while over here Ford named an MPV based on the VW Sharan "Galaxy" (using the English spelling).

Gm (or chrysler maybe) already owned the rights to "Galaxy."
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I can't recall a single GM or Chrysler product that used the name Galaxy, though...

I love it.  Is that a '62?

63. I wish big old Pontiacs weren't so rare. Rarer than all of the weird Mopar crap from the same decade, it seems.
