First, I love Jaguar's new design language as implemented on the sedans and the XJ. Second, this doesn't like a Jaguar at all to me.

Funny, I'm the opposite.  The XJ is hideous, the XF is passable, and the new XK looks like an radioactive fish.

I'm with Raza on this, the new design language seems to be an attempt to turn a once beautiful lineup into one only the designer's mother could love.

While the XF is passable it in no way distinguishes itself as an elegant jaguar, it reminds me of japanese luxury designs.

They can't even see fit to put a 3-D jag emblem on these things.

I'm afraid I agree :(.  They all look like they were designed by KIA.  From some angles, they look great but the overall appearance is a bit chaotic.

No one does that anymore, besides Rolls Royce and such.

As weird as the c-pillar is on the XJ, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. The front end is great and the interior is amazing.

Give me a black XJL Supersport, please.

I don't understand how anyone can call them ugly or fussy or busy. They're some of the most conservative and restrained designs on the market.

The XJ is disgusting.  Worst looking car in its class by miles.

Onslaught

I'm not in love with the front bumper. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. The one good thing is if you wait and pick up a used one you could pick one up for pocket change with the way Jaguar depreciates.

You're in the extreme minority. There's nothing there to be offensive.....it's a clean design (save for that D-piller).

The entire rear-end is vomit worthy.  That's like saying "That girl is sort of nice looking, but she has a rabid raccoon for an ass."

Not to mention it's a huge, hulking beast with a super high beltline and very little glass, and a design language that looks like it's been cobbled together from various Asian brands who are trying to be inoffensive.  It's neither recognizable as a Jaguar nor as anything else; it's a testament to the lack of taste of people with money.

Of course, in its segment, appealing to people without taste and with money is an asset.  Most of the cars in the large luxury segment are vulgar and offensive, with only cars like the Quattroporte escaping the massiveness of newer designs and Audi pulling together cohesive design language to make it work.

And before the cries "Oh you want Jaguars to look the same forever but no one was buying them!" start, Audi and Mercedes and BMW have updated their designs, but kept them recognizable as cars from their respective brands.  If Jaguar were going to start from a clean sheet, they should have done something pretty, rather than an ipecac alternative.

You're just all sheep that think anything Top Gear tells you looks good actually does.  It's grotesque.
