Well the gf made the call to trade her '08 in on a 2012 EX yesterday.

If everything goes to plan we pick it up Wed.

In a lot of ways it is a nicer car than the '08. The engine is more responsive, its smoother (without a noticeable handling penalty) and quieter.

Feature wise there is no contest. Built in bluetooth and ipod integration along with steering wheel controls, etc...

There are certainly aspects of the interior that aren't as nice though. Im not a fan of the door panel material or the look of the radio controls on the dash, both look kinda cheap.

In any case the money end of it is a pretty good deal so...

Did you do any comparative shopping?

Not really. We tried a Focus hatch a while back and we both liked it, but it gets a fair bit more expensive if you want all the toys. Its also a bit smaller even as the hatch.

I drove a Kia Forte once and I liked that too, but the Kia name still has a bit of a stigma attached to it for her.

So it was the Honda again. Maybe boring but safe.

Sales are up tremendously. I really like my mother's 2010 EX sedan. There are obviously countless people buying the MY12 Civic. Personally, I prefer the pre 2012 and like what I hear about the revised models for '13. Best wishes (to you and girlfriend) on a great fun, roomy and zippy quality car. The flat rear floor is awesome and appreciated by rear passengers and when needing the floor space for hauling extra items, including plants.

What color did she select?

Polished metal.

Picked it up yesterday. I already like that pulling the interior door handle will open it even if locked.

Also, reprogramming it to unlock all the doors when shifted to park is extremely simple using the iMid screen vs the old way of press and hold button combos.
