You could have bought a 1974 Dodge Monaco or 1980 Chevrolet Caprice Classic and you bought a gussied-up Toyota Camry!?!? WHAT!?!?!  :evildude:

Congrats! Not my cup of tea but as long as you're happy with it.

Nice! I thought those were Wizard's pics at first.

Extremely clean, though.

I would like to know what they used to stream clean the carpeting. Man! With 125,000 or so miles, I am stunned at how spot free it is, especially the lighter portion. The previous owner must be proud to know someone equally as caring for the car had purchased it.  :tounge:

My parents learned of a newly married couple buying a low mileage Accord EX sedan they traded in and even sent a baby gift after the birth of their first child. Ironically, they lived close by and could not afford a new car. My parents were awesome and also enjoyed their vehicles almost the way we do as enthusiasts at 'Spin. BTW: The family still gives the Acura and Honda dealers permission to have any serious buyer inquire about the cars we trade.

Why didn't you get a GS300?

Judging by the condition of the wheels and paint, I'd wager this car was very well taken care of throughout its life, lending to the cleanliness of the carpets.  Otherwise, this is what they used:

Sweet car, Clay.  Keep it clean!  Looks fricken great.

I think you are currently the only person on the board who could flex a Lexus from Long Beach to Texas.

That's a great local brewery that we have. Do I drink their beer? No.

$7,500 out the door.

At least you didn't pay the $10,000 asking price.  But damn, $7500 still seems like a lot of money for a car that's almost as old as you are and has 125,000 miles.

It does, doesn't it? My car is seven years newer and had 50K fewer miles when I bought it. And I paid (slightly) less and still got a car from the same trusted name as he did (Toyota).

This is a different car. The one that's $10k is still for sale. They were asking $7,500 for this car, which I thought was totally fair. I said $7,500 out the door and they had no problem with that.

Still, you were looking for something comfortable and practical and I was looking for quite the opposite.  :tounge:

I'd take the Lexus everyday over a Yaris.

Nice car but that's a lot of money for a car that old (IMO).  Congrats!

Too expensive?  It's a Lexus,  not a Civic.

I always worry about breaking down in the middle of nowhere or my cup holders breaking every single time I drive my non-Japanese car.

In all seriousness, haven't you actually had a number of breakdowns in your 1er?

I've never had a breakdown with the 1er.

I've had two ignition coil issues that came up when I started the car and were thankfully replaced by BMW Mobile Service within hours.

And I've had my steering column replaced, which is a common issue with E87s especially the 116i/118i models. The car was in the shop for two days during this time.
