some of you guys are a litttle nuts when it comes to little things like tracking your fuel consumption
I just started looking at what I get about a month ago. I wanted to see how good/bad it was. But in the end I really don't give a shit and wouldn't let it factor into my car purchase.

J86

Every now and then when I run my car down to E I'll push the trip meter and check my next fillup.  But it certainly isn't constantly logged!  More a morbid curiosity thing...

Course that rarely happens these days cause now I'm always pushin' the meter first to expense something!

Colonel Cadillac

I zero my trip odometer only to see how many miles I go between fillups. I'm going to go ahead and guess my mileage is in the bottom 10% among B7 A4 3.2 owners

I got somewhere around 24 on my trip to New Orleans. When I made the trip and only went 55 the whole way once (Mom was behind driving the UHaul), I did get 35!

Upped-mid-teens is the usual around the city.

Raza

Just added my first fuel up!  25mpg, that's a damn sight better than I've been getting lately.

This place must not want me. Still no email to set up account.

They know you don't care about gas mileage, and dont understand why you want to sign up.

What the hell is going on here?

I have had a Fuelly account for about 18 months. I keep logs of my fuel expenses on Fuelly, in a spreadsheet on my Google Drive, and in a logbook in my car.

My username over at Fuelly is my real name, so... :/   I'm not sure how I feel about sharing it.

Here I was thinking, ha ha good one. Then I realized... he's serious?!??

I spent an average of 9.94335ยข/L of gasoline in 2012 so far. ;)

EDIT: I used to keep all my receipts too! I stopped doing that in the last year. Now I just make sure to write it down in the logbook right after buying the gas and back it up on the computer at some point.

I don't but others do. And seeing that I'm someone who gets what Mazda said the 8 would do I'd post the numbers. You hear people say 8mpg and stuff like that. I do much better.

Mid teens is still awful for the performance you get. Seriously, Corvettes do better

I'm not going to this road with you again. And I can get in the 20's thank you. You've never driven and RX-8 and you have no idea the performance of one.

sportyaccordy

Ive driven cars in the RX8's performance realm (old roommate had an S2K) so I have an idea

And most RX8's get mid teens

I get an even 20MPG according to the display screen. Not sure how someone is getting close to half that in the LR2. My 20MPG includes probably 1-2 off-road trips a week, too.

Tried that and even emailed them.

I get 28mpg very consistently in the Miata, 23.5 in the Subie.   I just tap the date, gallons, and tripmeter on the phone at fillup then reset the meter.

Van gets 17-19mpg city driving but got up to 27mpg last long roadtrip. That's with 2 adults, 1 teen, 2 kids, snacks, two bike on a hitchmount rack, plus 3 more bikes inside and luggage.

But I'm getting ready for trip tomorrow and all four tires were 7psi low.   I should check more often so wifey doesn't burn so much $$.

Cookie Monster

26.4 mpg last tank. That blows hard.

I think a lot of it had to do with me idling the car before driving it since it's been cold enough to ice over the car lately.

What I would do to even hit 26mpg on the highway.

I"m right at the Fuelly average for a 2000 328i when I drive a mix of city/highway, which is a bit above the EPA estimate.

23.9 average so far.  Because I didn't drive for a week, I almost forgot about the site.
