It's the early '80s. The fashion is cool, the music is top notch and the days of great car design are coming to an end (RIP, 1970s!). You're a young executive - pick your ride.  :praise:

During my research I came under the impression that a few more were actually made, as there are a bunch of photos of them with different colors and exterior trims.

Just like 97.6% of American cars did in the '70s.  :praise:

Funny?  Hold on a minute, I'm actually going to speak up in defence of the K-Car Limo.  Yes, you heard me!  Building a compact limo in the wake of the fuel economy conscious early 1980s was a brave move on the part of Chrysler.  Had fuel prices not tumbled by mid-decade, I think these would have been a lot more successful.  However, given the small volumes involved, it's really not practical for any mass-manufacturer to be building stretch limo conversions, which is why all the major carmakers got out of the limo business in the first place.

Think about it this way.  This is the nicest K-Car variant ever made.  And, because it's really not all that big, I can actually see somebody using this as a plush, comfy family car and/or daily driver.  Well, maybe twenty years ago, anyway.  I'm sure these were an absolute bargain by the mid-'90s.

Speaking of which, about fifteen years ago, a neighbour of my dad's had one of these parked in  front of his house for a while.  It had a "2.6 HEMI" badge on the side, which was actually a Mitsubishi engine.  I have no idea what he was doing with it.  Maybe he was using it as a daily driver?

I didn't expect that.

I've seen this car on about two or three lists of the "Worst Cars Ever". It's not so much that these lists slammed the K-Car, they slammed the K-Car Limo claiming it was a joke etc.
