Went with the rpf1s with 245 width pilot super sports all around. For reference, Ferrari 458 Italias have 235 width super sports up front

5 lbs lighter per wheel than stock, 2" wider and can fit these monster tires. Going to melt faces.

245 width is really not that wide...

They don't make an STI...so I'm making my own   Besides, they sell STI parts like they do ///M parts.  You can get an M steering wheel or shifter on a normal 3 series.  They do the same thing with STI:  shifter, wheel, etc for non-STI cars.

Don't worry, I don't have my heart set on it.  Might just go with the Subaru blue stars instead.  Wheels and tires should be here in a week.

And don't forget, "hot rod" is just hillbilly for "ricer"

245 width is really not that wide...

For a 2700 lb car it is.  Should be a pretty drastic upgrade.  Most tests had the BRZ pulling .90-.92 g's on the stock 205 width, crappy primacy tires.  Adding 40 mm of width, at a wider stance, with much better tire.

Yeah 205 to 245 is pretty drastic. Can the car fit that much extra rubber without any other modifications? Would definitely like to see a before and after pic of that (from behind the car).

Most I have ever done was go from stock 225 to a 235 on my GTI. I didn't bother getting a wider tire with my aftermarket S4 wheels, but ended up getting a different offset that pushed the wheels out to the edge a bit more. Its a very slight change but makes a surprising amount of difference in the stance IMHO.

I wouldn't doubt it if steering feel is going to suffer and wide tire syndrome is going to be a problem.  That's a big jump in width.

A lot of cars will suffer from it when they aren't designed for wide tires.  The front tires will track with grooves, cracks etc.  My Mustang suffered from it when I went from the stock 225 fronts and went to 255.  It's not uncommon when making such a big jump in width.

A lot of guys are running tires this wide.  No one's complained about tracking issues that I've seen.   Hell, there's a guy at MidOhio running 265 width tires all around

...that's a stretch.  Wheels are still centered approximately the same place (ie the change in offset + additional width ends up equaling about the same width added to each side of the hub), so there shouldn't be a lot of weird bending moments.  The whole package should be slightly lighter than stock, if weight is your concern.

Considering OEMs run different wheels from the factory (change offset, diameter, width, tires, EVERYTHING) between model variations...I'm not too worried about it.

If I jammed 26" spinners that weighed 60 lbs a piece and stuck out 2 feet off the hub, I could see the point Cougs is making.
