Should have around 500 hp (so less than the ZL1) but also be 300 lb lighter. Can't wait to see what this will do on a track.

I just walked besides a (regular) Camaro parked outside my place. It's unbelievable what Chevy engineers have done to make this very large car perform. Kudos.

Any word on pricing? Those brakes alone are worth very big bucks and it seems they come standard on this thing.

Probably Between The 1LE And ZL1.

I just saw an SS in front of my hotel and the driver opened the trunk.  I have never seen a trunk lid that was twice the size of the actual opening like that.

As for this car, I'm not crazy about the hood,  but the front fascia is much better.

LonghornTX

Not a very good looking car in my eyes, but I admire and respect the purity of focus. They went hardcore on the weight reduction

I'm willing to bet it will be at least as expensive as the ZL1.

Whoa, Nelly. RS, SS, 1LE, Z28, ZL1. The Camaro is a serious brand for Chevy and totally dominates the class. I'm kinda surprised they put this much effort into it.

A bit too much black in the rear and the black side rails and front chin spoiler is too much. The stripper nature/intent of it nor the accentuated graphics doesn't appeal to me - an SS with the 1LE handling package and LS7 is all I'd need.

If it has the magnetic particle shocks it might be - the LS7 is an expensive motor to make. My guess is the Z28 won't - it'll have the 1LE handling bits (i.e., no magnetic particle shocks).

I'm betting it has the magnetic particle shocks just because it's supposedly a couple seconds faster than the ZL1. I can't see it being faster than the ZL1 without those shocks considering those shocks help the ZL1 mask its weight so well.

Could be but per C&D's 2013 Lightening Lap if it not for "well-worn" tires the 1LE would have been within 1-2 seconds of the ZL1 (and aster than the GT500) despite a significant power/weight ratio gap.

I wouldn't say it dominates its class, it barely beats the Mustang in sales (and sometimes loses, depending on the month), a car that dates back to 2005. I doubt the sixth gen Mustang will do anything but move the game forward, at least performance wise.

With that said, this car is straight nuts. This will likely be an instant collectible, given how undesirable it will be to a lot of people (one speaker stereo, noisy, etc.). Such narrow focused cars always command the big bucks down the road.

But man, that redesign did no favors for the looks of the car. Now it looks even larger, and those taillights look ripped off a Prelude. The 09-13 cars are definitely better looking.

LonghornTX

I wouldn't be surprised if this comes in as the most expensive car in the lineup, considering the carbon ceramics, the carbon bodywork, etc.

I'm loving the front end in the pictures. Would be perfect if they had the new front and old taillights.

Definitely an improvement with the narrower upper grill. The old taillights had to go IMO if but for nothing else than being incandescent...

Raza

The new front end looks good, but it still amazes me how awkward looking and huge the regular models are in person.

I prefer incandescent tail lamps. I worry about burned out LEDs down the road.

I prefer this refresh to the current car. The front is more agressive, and the taillights are more like the '69s:

And I love the front 3/4 view.

For a track car, it's about perfect, and it incorporates all the lessons learned from racing it.

Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

I'd yard that thing off the day I bought it...

It's also looking like it has some serious (for a factory car) negative camber.

I don't want a 3800lb car with terrible sight lines for my track car...

I prefer incandescent tail lamps. I worry about burned out LEDs down the road.

They're very 6sigma over the life of a vehicle so the chances they'd burn out is literally a few times per million. They're also safer in their faster reaction - 300 msec faster reaction equates to stopping ~26' shorter from 60 mph. In the least though if there is a problem (damage) they will indeed be more expensive to replace.
