I know, but still makes me sad every day I can't go out and pick which car to drive to work. And especially knowing the joy of topdown and the non-sunroof of my current car. :(

If I had moneys right now I would get

Subaru Legacy GT wagon.  (2005-2008? love that body style)
-stickshift
-turbo 2.5L with ~250hp
-room for my bike and/or fam and kidsstuff
-dual sunroof
-low stance for road (compared to Outback)
-AWD for road handling/ rain driving

-- also kind of want a Baja, for camping and biking and just kind of always dug them....

Now if I could afford a garage and multiple cars, a Miata would be a first choice to go with whatever else I had..

Another thing I'd change about my car- it's too quiet. I'd love for it to roar a bit louder.

I guess that's where the aftermarket comes in, so no big deal.

Heh. Another small quip I have against my car is that there's more wind and road noise than I would like.

Onslaught

It not having a motor that last 50k miles it turns out.

Full story coming. I'm dealing with people who know less then me. And that's a darn difficult thing to find.

And that picture is darn funny.

- road noise
- rain-sensing wipers don't work well, I'd much rather have normal intermittent wipers
- fuel economy; I've never come close to the government ratings; I average between 10-12 L/100 km (20-23 mpUSg) in the winter, which is atrocious for a compact car
- I'm beginning to feel a clunk when I start the engine, stop the engine, put it in gear, shift gears... I suspect I need to replace at least one engine mount, which is a ridiculous thing for a 3.5 year old car with 35,000 km on it to need.

Yeah, you and MX793 (who I think has been here the longest without anyone knowing his name) do not make Mazda ownership sound very appealing.

I wish my car was a bit smaller. I prefer the size of the prior generation A4/S4.

I don't like the carbon fiber trim. Would prefer aluminum or even some shades of wood trim.

Did not like the stock wheels, but I replaced them with aftermarket wheels for my summer tires. I still use the stock wheels for my winter tires.

GoCougs

I much prefer these as the factory B8 S4 wheels. Same size and tires as the standard 19". These don't appear to be available on the '13 though...

That is the EPA rating -- 20 city/28 highway/23 mixed driving.

Those look good. If I was buying today I'd probably go with those, but for now I am okay with the wheels I got (R8 Replicas):

Since you mentioned wheels, it got me thinking about the wheels on my Caterror.  The chrome wheels are just a little too "bling" for my tastes.  I'd really prefer a more subtle matte finish.

And of course, the fuel economy could be better, too.  Yeah, I expected a 3.0 V6 to be a bit of a gas-guzzler, but I wish GM had also offered us the 2.2 four cylinder engine available in European Omegas as a base model.  Diesel would have been nice, but I'm sure that's asking too much!

You know what's weird? Whenever I go to a car show in California, I always see people posing in front of cars and taking pictures. It's the weirdest thing I've ever seen at a show. It's not their car...

(I know that the Caddy is that guy's car, it just reminded me of that...)

You can get any Audi rims on basically any Audi.  I can almost guarantee you can order them.

Full tank (50 liters), crappy range. I'm driving to Essen on Wednesday to attend the 25th Techno Classica Essen car show and that's 636 km away from Munich. Add to that 95% of spirited Autobahn driving and that means around three fuel stops.  :banghead:

In the summer my max range is 650 km (the extra weight of my equipment doesn't do the range any favors). A diesel 118d can do double that (the 118d guys on the BMW 1-Series Forum I am on regularly get 1,100-1,200 km range, even with spirited driving).

I seriously need a 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Wagon with a 350cid Diesel V8!!!

I really like them on the black car...they don't look so good on the yellow.

I'm hoping that's 3 fuel stops round-trip, not one way.

Yep, round-trip.

If I drive at a steady 130 km/h it'll be two fuel stops. But sometimes you want to cruise at a faster rate and that burns a lot of gas. Gasoline-powered 1-Series' are notorious for crappy range, especially the 130i, 135i and 1M.

There are a whole lot less gas stations in Germany than there are in the US.  They're everywhere here, off every exit (which is every mile or two).  In Germany, I felt like I had to really hunt for one, and if I pass the one off the highway, I wouldn't see another for quite some time.

It depends where you are. In cities there are plenty of gas stations around, also within the same area. But on some stretches of lengthy Autobahn routes the number of gas stations are much less.

2007 hyundai sonata - hate the annoying beeps and bongs the car makes when the door is ajar or the seatbelt is undone.  The most annoying loud persistent sound.  get around it by buckling the driver side seatbelt behind me and then sitting on top of the seatbelt when i'm trying to park in a crowded narrow spot parking lot which requires me to twist and turn my torso quite a bit.  gas mileage isn't great with the V6 at 20 mpg.  the paint isn't the highest quality.  other than that, like the car a lot.  very under the radar car which allows me to drive faster.  doesn't handle that good but didn't expect it to.

2009 buick enclave - love almost everything about this car.  handles clumsily on local narrow roads but that's to be expected.  feels and looks more expensive than it is.

1.  Why wouldn't you buckle the passenger side seatbelt into your buckle instead of buckling the belt under you?
2.  How restrictive is your seatbelt if you need to unbuckle it when in a parking lot?

1.  Never thought about buckling the passenger side seat belt into my side.  I'll see if it works.

2.  I hate seat belts when i have to twist and turn my upper body which you have to do to parallel park or or move the car back and forth in a tight parking lot which is everyday for me.  If you're skinny its probably not a big deal.  I am not skinny (5'9", 205 lbs).
