Ferrari F12: $330,000
Porsche 911 C4S: $105,630

Totally comparable.  :nutty:
This test was an "addendum to the Driver's Car competition", not a full on comparo. 911 C4S took the original competition and this one.

And yet the 911 wins and the Ferrari finishes last.

The summary at the end of that video expresses the same disappointment I felt when I see how "much lesser" cars are better cars than the Ferrari.  The Ferrari has nearly 300 more horsepower than the Vette and can barely outlap it.  I love the Ferrari.  I think it looks great and it sounds amazing, but it's 4000 lbs and has soft pitchy handling.  Ferrari came up short.

Better at what? Going around 1 track biased to handling over power? Come on dude.

Paves the way for numerous GT, GTS, and GTC packages to come.

Thats the craziest part. This is the ground floor. Can you imagine what the F12XX will be like? 1000HP?

What's so crazy about the ground floor?  From all accounts it's pretty good but it falls short of where it should be.

Really?

Currently active in the SCCA World Challenge GT series and the Grand American series' GT class, Pobst was the 2003, 2007, 2008, and 2010 SCCA World Challenge GT champion, the 1996 North American Touring Car Championship title winner, and the 2005, 2006 and 2007 SCCA World Challenge TC vice-champion. He is also a two-time class winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona, in 2001 and 2006.

That doesn't mean the guy is incapable of producing a subpar lap.  We have no clue if he only got a chance to put down a few laps and Ferrari snagged it back.  Everyone's got cars they're naturally more competitive in too.

Comparing an F12 to a Corvette based on lap time of one driver on one course is pretty stupid.

Guys, it's faster around Fiorano than the 458 Speciale.  Fiorano isn't an especially long track that favors power either.  To say the F12 comes up short is asinine.

Well have fun talking to yourself. This car is awesome and anyone who would pick a 911 or Corvette over one because they lap faster around 1 track is an idiot

I'd also like to point out it beats an Enzo around Fiorano by nearly 2 seconds.  That's an eternity on a track that short.

:nono:

Comparing lap times, Consumer Reports results, et al, is only stupid when your car is the one that looks bad in the comparison.  See below:

BTW, when did the Audi TT become the currency of the world?

Well, I was figuring in options.  I figure, with a million Audi TTs, I could go nuts.  Custom paint, custom leather, a real manual transmission (I mean, for 10,000-15,000 TTs, I'm sure I could find a shop who would put something in), et al.

The current TT is a completely different animal than the first one.  It's also a completely different animal than the Golf.

Yeah, the TT's platform has sort of split off into its own evolutionary branch from the rest of the Golf family.
