As pretty as it is, I think I like the soft top more. The coupe IMO looks a little stumpy.

Big +1.  Glad I'm not the only one.  Not that the coupe looks bad, but I definitely prefer the comfortable.  I think the car as a whole makes more sense as a convertible (grand tourer with great noises, made for cruising).  Similarly, I wouldn't want something like a 911 GT3 RS in a convertible.

I wonder if they're going to make an F-type R for the convertible eventually then too.

I like comfortable as well.

Both models are stunning. And if they ever make good on their promise of a manual transmission, I'll get one eventually.

The R sounds downright brutal.  :mask:  :mrcool:

If the F Type is any indication I am really looking forward to Jaguar's 3er, A4, C class competitor due to be revealed at Paris this fall.

Lovely car... But could I really justify it over a 911?

Over a 911? I would say yes. The 911 is even more expensive. The question is if both the F-Type and 911 can be justified over a Boxster.

The F-Type can be justified over almost anything.

It really is the first new car that I've been excited about in some time.

CALL_911

I love the F-Type to death, but I really couldn't say no to a 911 C2S for the same money.

It is perhaps different in the US, but for the German market the base price of the F-Type S Coupé is € 78.500, the 911 Carrera starts at €90.000. The Carrera S starts at € 105.173.

At those prices, fuck patriotism, I would rather fly the british battle ensign.

My bad, its the base Carerra that comes close in price to the v6 f type s

While the Jag is a looker and sounds fantastic, I just cant help but think the 911 is probably the better car.

Any of you catch the show "How it's made Dream Cars" the other day? It had this car and it was cool seeing how they build one.

The Jag is a much heavier and, I suspect, a much less nimble car.  I have a feeling it's a car that's at it's best being pushed at 7-8/10ths on a twisty backroad but isn't really the sort of car that would excel at 10/10ths on a track as a 911 does.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.
