The Jag has a lovely body but a flawed face.

I would have full on sex with either of those cars.

Full Road Test of the Jag F Type V6S Coupe in this week's Autocar.

Conclusion: they absolutely love it, but the conclusion is that the 911 is better "just".............. and therefore worth the price premium. That premium is another £13,500, for which I would expect a car to be a lot more than "just" the better option.

As ever, an opinion completely detached from money.

What exactly does the Jag compete with anyway?  Its priced in a weird middle ground between a 911 and Boxster/Cayman and has engines to compete with either.

hotrodalex

Jag has no competition because nothing can match that booty.

How much dearer is the Jag V8?
Over the V6? I'm thinking 20K?

:wtf: @ this 911 being 150K though. That is Nismo GT-R money  ;)

Either car would look hot 20 yrs from now IMO.  Not sure which one I like better.

The 911 is my dream car and no amount of objective reasoning will change that.
Oh, X is faster? I don't care.
Y stops quicker and acclerates faster? Don't care.
Z Cost almost half as much money. I. Don't. Care.

I want a 911 Turbo/GT3, and I would gladly take it over any Lambo, Corvette, GT-R and most Ferraris (I'm not THAT crazy, I can sell them back and buy more 911s)

... Nissan needs to use these shocks on the GT-R.  It would be like the Incredible Hulk wielding Thor's hammer.... unstoppable.

911 is definitely up there for me as well. No Turbo, GT3, etc. Far too much car. Give me a white 911 Carrera S (and probably a 4S) with the retro duck tail spoiler and 7MT.

I dropped in quickly at the P-Car dealership here last week. Even the Cayman has grown up so that it doesn't look like the poor relative anymore. The new one has much more presence.

A Cayman/Boxster GTS would be the sweet spot of the lineup for me right now considering price and being realistically able to get one. After that a base Carrera wouldn't be interesting, I'd have to go to a 911S that here is about 40K dearer than the Cayman.

The anniversary edition doesn't make much sense. You can get a decently equipped turbo for that.

Its for dbags who go to parties and say "it cost 50K more than the regular version, but it commemorates the 911's 50th anniversary"

I too would probably go for the 911 over pretty much every car in existence. Little poor man's GT3 with the manual (C2S with PASM, aero bits, but also a sunroof). Pretty much the perfect real world car.
