 :wanker:

Big deal.

This car is a joke. It shouldn't sticker for anything more than 100K.

It seriously does sound like a jet.

Every once in a while, Idaho is actually useful.

Sounds a bit like a P-51 Mustang doing a high speed fly by.

Meh, I'll race it any day with my car.

The thing actually does sound quite good. The analogies posted here, WW2 era warbird at idle, low speed, and an almost jet like sound going all out are quite accurate imo.

By the way I wonder if police laser/radar can actually get a reading of a Veyron at 400kmh plus.

LOL guy, at 240+ MPH of course that thing will sound like a jet. After all it is the air shock wave you are hearing not the engine noise

.... oh, let's wait till the guy comes out and shows us how his mom's Quest can go faster

He's about 400 mph shy of creating a shockwave...

That 2-lane strip of road has to feel pretty darn narrow at those speeds.

You mean the sonic boom when you break the speed of sound? Well, regardless of the terminology being exact or not, the content was: What you are hearing is the car piercing through the air, and not the engine.

No, what you're hearing is largely a combination of tire and engine noise.  250 mph is well slower than even a prop-driven WWII fighter, let alone a jet.

Tire and engine noise affected by the Doppler effect.

Very rare. At least it's not Utah!

And BTW, there are 80 mph limits in Idaho now, too.
