Got the Baja inspected today and it DOES have a lift kit on it. Not sure how I feel about it, but I do like the additional ride height and stance. It currently has the factor 16" alloys and brand new Milestar MS932 tires.

The report came back fairly positive. Needs a new front axle and the rear struts are shot. Should be around 2k worth of investment, but everything else checks out. I am going to get it washed and I'll take some more pics.

I like it- not obnoxious, just enough extra clearance to be useful.

This is so f*cking awesome! Germany 1973, early experiments with navigation systems taking up 1/8th of the trunk space. Totally primitive and laughable by today's standards, but still kinda cool. In German, but great video footage!

Unsurprsing from Ford, but I always try to root for them. Chevy is suprising.

Love Genesis and have recommended them to friends for some time now who are looking for quality in that price point, but do not want an EV.

Nissan is just in a world of hurt. The brand itself is held together by loyalists and those with bad credit. The amount of busted Nissans I see on the road is pathetic. Tailights, bumpers, you name it. If were not the for th Rogue, I question their profitability. They seem behind in almost every statistical category. Competitive, but behind. Sad really since they are a major employer in the area and their American HQ is here in Nashville.

What's interesting is the overall numbers.

Honda: -500,000 units
Toyota: -250,000 units
Nissan: -250,000 units
FCA: -200,000 units
VAG: -130,000 units

Most of the other major manufacturers were relatively flat on year to year sales with overall small losses.

I like the new Frontier's styling. The Pathfinder looks pretty good too, and I surprisingly enjoyed the Sentra we rented two years ago. It seems like Nissan could do well if they had more bandwidth and money to keep all of their lineup up to date instead of letting half of the vehicles go for 10 years before updating. And fix the damn CVTs.

I like the new Frontier as well. I very briefly looked into them when truck shopping. But I knew I wanted another Taco anyways.

The H6 is just smoother with adequate enough power.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it but since Carlos Ghosn's ouster, Nissan has really stepped up their game in the U.S.

I was looking to buy or lease a 2023 Nissan Altima for my daughter who recently turned 16. You can get them cheaper than Camcords and it's a nice mainstreamer car with fantastic fuel economy.

IIRC Tesla & Genesis were about the only ones with significant sales growth last year. I was going to replace the G37 last year. Then I pushed it to this year. Now I've pushed it out to 2024. I'm guessing a lot of others have decided to wait on the sidelines: prices are high and compelling pressing any buttons.

(OT: Did not know you lived in Nashville. When we drove across to Texas in December we were super-impressed with Tennessee - stayed in  a really nice hotel in Franklin. The state's roads are in great shape etc. & it has the look of prosperity.  (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi & Alabama - not so much)

I'm sure Nissan/Infiniti's CVT is an overall shitty transmission especially with regards to longevity.  The current new model QX60 ditched it for a 9-speed.  My 2019 QX60 has the CVT and it sounds and acts fine for me, especially in sport mode which is where I keep it all the time.  If you pedal to the metal the car, it fake shifts for you.  You told me to make sure I change that CVT fluid on time which is really important to prevent it from failing. The owner's manual says it should be changed every 60 thousand miles.

Seen how some owners have swapped the base EJ251s with the H6. If that application were available and practical I would find it most appealing. All things considered, the Turbo model is also enjoyable.
